I peeked over the edges of the row I was hiding behind to make sure I saw right. And I did. It was him. He turned around and I ducked quickly. I peeked over the edges again slowly and saw he was gone. I breathed out as I slid down to the floor.

I wondered if anyone knew he broke out. Maybe he was released, and if so, why didn't I know about anything? I took one last deep breath before standing up. I quickly grabbed a couple of bags of chips and a couple of sodas. When I was done at the cash register I headed out to the car. I put the bags at Cassady's feet and put the car in drive. My parents were already on the road. John and his parents must have been in the bathroom because as soon as I started to move they ran to their cars and quickly followed behind me.

"Hey," I greeted Cassady as her eyes fluttered open.

"Hey," She greeted back, her voice still a bit dry due to sleep.

"How'd you sleep?" I asked.

"Great, thanks." She answered. She frowned and looked down at her feet. "When did you get those?" She asked, still frowning.

"We passed a gas station a couple of miles back." I answered. But then the memory of seeing Jason crossed my mind.

"Are you okay?" She asked, narrowing her eyes at me. I shot her a questioning look. "You look extremely pale all of a sudden." She said.

"I-it's nothing," I assured her with a slight smile.

We drove in silence after that. I heard her going through the paper bag with our goodies in. She pulled out a soda and started drinking it. "Thirsty?" I asked her and she slightly laughed as she put away the soda.

"Kinda," She replied. I laughed a little at the comment.

"There's a couple of bags of chips in there somewhere," I said and she dug one out.

"Oh! Cheese! My favorite!" She said as she dug right into it. She moaned as the chip entered her mouth.

I laughed a little as I saw how cute she looked. After a while we finally arrived at the house. "Finally." I mumbled under my breath as I pulled up in the driveway.

Cassady had fallen asleep a couple of minutes ago and I didn't want to wake her so I did what I thought might be a little romantic; I picked her up bridal stile and walked into the house. I picked the two big rooms (apart from the main bedroom) next to each other for me and her. I laid her down on the bed and took a brief moment to watch the work of art in front of me.

Walking down the stairs I almost bumped into Mr Olsen. "Sorry Sir." I said with a small laugh. I always managed to run into him or run him over as a kid when our families used to visit this place. He laughed and patted my back as he moved passed me.

I unloaded the car and took everything to me and Cassady's rooms.

I walked outside and took a deep breath. The place didn't change one bit. I ran inside and changed into something more comfortable, I wanted to see if something was still there from when I was a kid. I changed into my shorts and white T-shirt along with some running shoes. I wasn't going running... They're just so much more suited for the kind of terrain this place has to offer.

I ran out and in a couple of minutes; found what I was looking for. "You're still here." I said as I gently stroked the bark of a old tree I used to climb as a kid.

I heard a twig snap and jolted around to see someone running away. I quickly followed behind him. When I saw he was heading for the road I put all my might into it and ran after him. But I was too late. I caught a glimpse of who it was through his mirror.
