-Two weeks later-
I woke up with a big smile. Since me and Cassady became friends I haven't had that stupid dream. I think I really like her. We met at a bar. Weird right? Anyway we ran into each other at the beach and had a great time. I now, kinda, know how to surf.
After that we met at school. Who knew she and I both study art? Or visual art, to be exact.

I stood up from my bed and got ready. John came into my room just as I grabbed my last piece of clothing. "Oh, you’re already up." John said, leaning back against the wall.

"Yup. Just going to grab a quick shower, then I'll be down." I assured him running into the bathroom.

"Okay. But hurry up, Cassady called me and said she's waiting for you in front of her house." John said from my room. I was busy taking off my shirt, but I froze and ran back into my room. With the shirt, still in my hand.

I looked at my clock, "Oh, shit! I slept in!" I yelled running back into the bathroom. "Why did she call you?" I asked stepping into my shower.

John yelled back at me from my room, "Your phone is dead." I slapped my forehead. I forgot to put it on charge last night.
"Can you please put it on charge for me." I pleaded before sticking my head under the water to wash off the shampoo.
"Okay." I heard him say. Now I get why he came to see if I slept in... I'm so slow some times.

I climbed out of the shower and dried off. When I was done I walked back into my room. John looked at me weirdly. "What?" I demanded, "Something wrong?" I asked crossing my arms across my chest.

"Just got to get used to the new look." he said tilting his head to the one side.

"Do I look bad?" I asked. I was wearing blue shorts, which unfortunately showed my scar. A green t-shirt and a black blazer jacket. He shook his head and scoffed. Once more I asked, "What?"

He just shook his head, laughing, "You usually wear black. Not color." He said and I lifted my eyebrow, "I'm just not used to see you in colored clothes. Cassady really changed you, huh?"
I never really thought about it like that. It's true. Since Cassady came into my life I've been happier. I looked down at my clothes and shrugged, "Yeah," I said dreamily, "I guess she did." John nodded and turned around, walking out of my room.

Cassady got into my car, "Hey. Sorry you had to wait. I slept in and I forgot to put my phone on charge. If that wasn't bad enough, my car had a flat tyre-" I started to apologize like crazy but she lifted her hand to signal me to stop talking.

"It's okay. It isn't like we're late or anything." She assured me. I flashed her a smile and took off.

On the way to school, there was an award silence hanging in the air. We stopped in front of the school and she got out. I still needed to look for parking. "I'll be right back." I promised her and she nodded before getting out.

It took twenty minutes, but I found parking. I grabbed my backpack and locked the car. I had to run because school started in, like, two minutes.

I stopped in front of Cassady, out of breath, "Sorry I took so long." I apologized before grabbing her by the wrist and pulling her into the building.

We walked into class just as the bell rang. We both let out sighs of relief.

Mrs Beck started teaching. "I'm going to give you an assignment." Ms Beck said and the class moaned. "You’re going to paint portraits. You'll be working in pairs. Each pair will paint portraits of the other one." A smile made it's way as I thought about painting. Cassady put her hand up, "Miss Jane?”

"Can me and Tristan be partners?” Cassady asked and I blushed as the classes eyes turned to me.

"Doesn't surprise me." Mrs Beck said letting out a sigh. "But fine." Cassady had a big smile on her face. She looked at me and I smiled back.
