THE STAGES OF GRIEF...
What is grief?
Grief
/ɡrēf/
noun
Meaning:
Deep sorrow, especially that caused by someone's death."Grief... is the response to loss, generally to the loss of someone or some living thing that has died, to which a bond or affection was formed. Although conventionally focused on the emotional response to loss, grief also has physical, cognitive, behavioral, social, cultural, spiritual, and philosophical dimensions. Grief comes in many forms besides the loss with death. It can come in that of suddenly losing a best friend of ten years due to a small fight or when someone moves away from home and cannot see their family again. To those who experience Grief and go through its stages; it is known too well for its cause of major distress to oneself. Everyone experiences grief at one point or another."
"It is one of the undeniable truths of life, just like death. No one can indeed avoid it, which is what makes a person a living being. To those who don't know them well, someone will say that demons are considered griefless. To many, they are considered beings of chaos, mischief, and disasters. Just those who harbor dark desires that are acted out in very harmful ways. People consider demons to be the embodiment for grief, always causing others deep sorrow and yet are unable to feel it themselves. But the truth is... for a demon to experience grief is like how a God is to experience the change of their immortality."
"Nearly impossible and yet... when it does happen, it is so devastating to the point where it is almost debilitating. But those who are demons or know more than the average man on demons... They come to realize that Demons do experience grief. In the same way humans and some animals do. And to all those who do experience it, they know it is never the same as what others describe it. It's like the phrase: 'Everyone experiences things differently. It isn't the same experience twice'."
"Everyone, Human or not, can agree that there are stages to grief. But the total number of stages are different for each person. There can be five for one person, who only experiences it for a short while, or it can be twelve for another, going on for years and years until they finally learn to heal from its scars. It mainly depends on what the grief is for that person... For The Six Eared Macaque. It was many, many, centuries and as everyone says, it didn't come lightly or in order. Especially when he died..."
"First he was in Shock."
"Then he felt Relief that he was alive and had somehow escaped death."
"Then, after a moment he felt Guilt for his friend, wanting to make it up to him."
"After trying to use his powers and get out of the darkness, he felt no physical Pain."
"Then, the Fear of the unknown set in. Not knowing why he couldn't use his abilities or feel."
"Once he realized what had truly happened. That he did die, he went into Denial."
"Then he showed Anger. Cursing the Gods and his friend who put him there in death's hold. And as he became frantic with rage chains tied him up, which caused him to thrash and struggle, screaming, growling, and cursing more."
