Chapter Two
A angry yawp erupted into the red, dimly lit setting. A creature, primarily having tan skin with singed patches of dark fur and a single visible eye that beheld a glowing gleam of gold, thrashed among the glowing obsidian binds that tethered it to the pool of void below. In this hellish space, the beast was already swallowed up mainly by the black inkiness under it. The creature screamed, cried, and even begged for help, trying its best not to fall into daunting void. A single century is all it took for the process to begin, where the soul of this being would no longer exist as the shadowy void devoured the figure into the farthest depths of the underworld. Of course, at the very beginning of this punishment, this creature, this monkey demon, grown to accept is fate after what felt like eons.
After all, no one would come for it, so why bother fighting anymore?
It would only be held down on the cold stone ground like a criminal, on their knees, forced to rest like that for eternity. But, only a few hours ago, as they slowly succumbed to anguish, that the darkness began to consume them from below like quicksand. It was the start to the Monkey struggles once again. To want to live again. The previous chains that held this Monkey down had broken ages ago from strain, and new bindings had taken their place. The victim of this torture screamed his already horse vocal cords at the top of his lungs as this strange power consumed his being.
He tried his best to fight it, to stay above where he could see what light there was still, but it was futile. Slowly, it ate him alive, him sinking further and further down into the abyss, never once giving enough room for him to free himself. It was relentless, and just as the darkness nearly submerged his whole being, his eyes and one arm remained. He reached up to the red light above, his non-existent heart pounding in his ears as he pleaded that someone would help him. But, just as his head became submerged into the ink, a bright white light shined above him. And suddenly, he felt something he never dreamed of feeling.
Hope...
Just within minutes, he fully succumbed to the darkness, only for it to be blown off of him by the radiant light. The source itself blinded him as he closed his eyes, his arms back spread wide by the sheer power alone. Soon the light faded. And with that, a strange sensation flooded him. It was the need to breathe. A gasp came from the Monkey; his eyes shot open as he fell to his hands, coughing and gasping meanwhile looking at the ground.
Tears ran down his face as he soon started to regain his breath. The air around him rushed past, causing his nearly naked body, to shiver at the air that nipped at his sweaty form. Soon, his senses started to rush in. What was once deadly silence immediately turned into cacophonous; the male jolted with a shout, hadtily covering his ears as his tail swung around violently like an angry cat. Everything was crashing in! It hurt so bad! "Make it stop!" He begged with urgency. All of overstimulation throbbed into his core.
There was just too much noise, from birds chirping, to people talking, to the screams and laughs of children, to the tiniest of insects walking, the winds howling around him, and more. It was overwhelming as he gave a feral snarl to the agony. But, just when he thought he would have to claw his ears off, to no longer hear anything, he felt a pair of hands cup his. They gently pushed against his hands. And like a miracle from the gods, a soothing, gentle feeling swayed through his head, and everything that was once too much to bear slowly dimmed out into nothing. The male would blink a few times, the noise of the world's suffering and agony diminished as he slowly started to collect himself. He stayed in that curled position, his body trembling as he regained what little awareness he could muster, before finally feeling the pair of hands leave his own.
