**Attn- This chapter doesn't contain that much Ivy and Shannon, but you'll see why. It's the prelude to something...**
**************************************Friday **
The rest of the week had been pretty uneventful and Ivy had been able to knuckle down and get on with her reports to make up for not getting much done on Monday.
Shannon had called her a couple more times that week.
Jess had sent her a text apologising for what happened on Sunday and had invited her round to hers one day next week, but Ivy had had to turn her down as she would br going to Seattle to see Shannon for the week, so they arranged for the week after.
It was currently 3am and Ivy was just finishing up some last minute packing for the trip. She had planned to call a cab for 4, in order to get there on time for the flight.
She was just packing up her make up bag and layout some comfortable, smart, but slouchy trousers to wear for the flight when Shannon messaged her.
'What hotel are you staying at in Denver?'
'The Oxford Hotel? Why?'
'Just wondering if it was somewhere we'd stayed at whilst on tour.'
'Oh. OK. Why are you up? It's 3am.'
'I couldn't sleep, I guess I'm still in touring mode. I wanted to make sure I caught you as well before you flew out to Denver.'
'Well I'm just packing at the moment for the weekend. Trying to decide what to pack is a ballache.'
'What did your boss say was the attire to bring?'
'Smart work attire for the conference and then I need to bring a dress for the meal afterwards.'
'You're going for a meal? With who?'
'Other people from the conference I guess, and drinks afterwards, but I probably won't go to that.'
'I really don't trust him Iv.'
'Shan, it'll be fine, he's my boss and yeah he may have a thing for me I guess, but it's literally a work conference.'
She looked at the time on the alarm clock by her bed; 3:30am.
'I've got to go. I'm leaving in 30 minutes and want to make sure I have everything I need. I have a cab coming at 4 to take me to LAX.'
'Please text me before you catch your flight.'
'I will do. Go and get some sleep Shan, you can't keep up a sleeping pattern like that.'
'Jay is way worse, trust me.'
'Yeah, but I'm not talking about Jay, I'm talking about you.'
'Yes mum.'
Ivy laughed. 'Stop it. I'll messsge you just before I take off. I promise.'
