You peel back my layers/ one after the other// until I am nothing but oozing heartache and bubblegum
Even on the inside, the pain is candy coated/ crystalized sugar dripping off of rotting fruit// you don't even bother taking a bite
Cotton candy drenched nightmare/ I wake up with a monster on my chest// I try to breathe but he's pounding my lungs like a pair of bongos
This is the cost of trying to make the bitter things sweet
