☾⋆⋆✩✩✩★✩✩✩⋆⋆☽Myeong-su's POV
The nearer we get the sight of the school building, the more anxious I become, I shouldn't be but I'm scared, what if I fail finding my daughter amidst the chaos and won't be able to get her out? What if I fail to keep my promise to safely take her and bring her to Seoul?
A hand slightly slapped on my lap that I didn't notice was uncontrollably bouncing up and down, "Loosen up, don't tire your legs before we could even get down the rooftop. She'll be fine, haven't you taught her some self defense before? She's got a great muscle.... especially here," his friend that's part of them reassured— well, he tried— pointing at his leg, recalling the time when he challenged my daughter, Jaewon, to prove him that the time of me training her for self defense purposes didn't go to a waste.
I sighed, clutching my M4 Carbine assault riffle as tight that if it were to be living creature, I had probably choked it to death by now.
Close enough to the edge of the rooftop, we hopped off the helicopter— trashes and dusts are being blown around frantically, swirling in the air because of the expeditious rotation of tremendous blades of the rotorcraft, which the M50 gas mask protected us from.
"Freeze!"
There, a male student stood in front of the closed steel doors silently, his face pale.
"Get down!" My other soldier friend ordered as the lad obeyed. He checked his body temperature and confirmed it by nodding at me, signifying that the boy is safe to come with us.
"Are you okay? Where are the others?"
"There's no one, it's just me," he answered utterly.
"No. That can't be, my daughter's still here," I'm desperate, if I have to search the entire premises, I would.
"What about the others?" He was asked once again.
"I'm by myself."
"What about downstairs and classrooms?"
"There's no one there! It's just me," the exchange was definitely annoying me, he peeked over where he was once stood while he's being guided ahead.
"How do you know that? Sure enough you didn't check every possible hiding place, so how can you be that unbothered with what you say?!" This kid is lucky he's young and I don't wanna be sued for child abuse if ever...
A light tap on my shoulder shifted my attention to it, "Stay calm, you're pressuring the kid."
I'm pressured too.
"I'm sorry," I took a deep breath to relax my nerves even in the slightest, "They are your schoolmates, are you certain there aren't any other survivors? Please cooperate."
"They're all zombies," as simple as that, he responded, gazing on the closed double doors for the second time, "There are no survivors."
"What about a girl your age? She's this tall and a long hair," I gestured a height by my hand on my lower shoulder level, "Do you know her? Han Jaewon?"
