Balling up her fists by her sides that her nails digged on her palms which were now numb. Clenched jaw and gritted teeth, face contorted with rage as her nostrils flared, shaky breathings with her racing heart.
Gwi-nam being befuddled gave Jaewon the upper hand, grappling the guy's collar in a flash to get him face to face with her which got him to release Cheong-san from his clench.
Cheong-san almost fell backwards, flummoxed, enlarging his eyes as he was taken aback by her antics that no one had expected for her to do, especially to someone like Gwi-nam.
Warm, shallow breaths fanning each other's faces due to the proximity they share, not the intimate one but rather the tensed one- Jaewon's eyes piercing onto his, burning holes on Gwi-nam's face. Her knuckles crunching and turning white from putting on too much pressure on her hand to lift Gwi-nam off the ground. They might now be the same species but the guy was still undeniably stronger and heavier for Jaewon, plus the fact that Gwi-nam literally has a towering height.
"What the hell?" Gwi-nam cursed, he emitted a grunt as he shook his body which was hard for him to do much effect on, for a reason that his body is currently hanging by the stairs, being on Jaewon's firm hold.
Overwhelming anger washed over her which triggers her system, meaning, more strength is radiated off making it harder for him to free himself, his tensed muscles not helping his situation.
"You are now free to go," Jaewon whispered in a deep voice, feeling a sudden dryness in her throat. With all her might, she pushed Gwi-nam with her whole body's force as he fell down straight in the middle, bringing along the zombies and the tarpaulin with him.
Out of frustration, Jaewon charged and landed her fist on the door, a light circle was imprinted to the indomitable doors, "I've got zero patience for this, dammit!" She spat, vexatious, her knuckles crunched as a burning throb hit her hands.
Surprising Cheong-san who's behind her by what she did, gasping shortly as he dashed to Su-hyeok to help him block the zombies with the metal they have. While Nam-ra stood stunned on her ground after she watched every detail of the scene unfold before her.
Suddenly, a sound of click came from the door and a buzz coming from the device made On-jo, Nam-ra, and Gyeong-su make eye contact, astonished.
"Guys! The door's unlocked," On-jo breathed out as she informed the others.
"Let's go!" The two, Su-hyeok and Cheong-san pushed the horde of zombies down in a count of three to give them time to run to the exit without the zombies running after them closely.
Nam-ra pulled Jaewon with her and when On-jo opened the door, others following suit, a harsh breeze of dusty wind being blown by a gargantuan rotor blades greeted them. How unfortunate this day is for them as it was a little too late for the group to catch the attention of the departing helicopter, it took off too early.
Nam-ra and Jaewon stopped not too far from the door while the others ran to the edge of rooftop.
"Over here!"
"Hey!"
"We're here!"
"Help!" They cried, running as they wave their arms, using the slightest bit of hope they have that the chopper would notice and comeback for them. Dae-su even used a yellow cardboard to make it easier for them spot there are still survivors left.
Desks and chairs, cartons and pieces of disassembled woods littered the surroundings of the rooftop.
"No..." Gyeong-su trailed in a shaky voice, bending his body to place his palms on his knees as he deeply inhaled.
