Long ago, I was free
and I could laugh and trust
any way I wanted to; I could see
myself in the mirror, and there was no rust.
But there is now, and it is thick,
so stained on that it will never look
the same again because trust is slick.
Luckily, my heart was all it took.
Bust some are not as fortunate as I,
it will break a person, never leave them the same.
It's true, though some try to break the tie;
however, betrayal knows my name.
I am hurt and broken, there
is no one that has filled this gap,
and I fear no one ever will. Their
story will continue, but I am stuck in betrayal's trap.
