Chapter 10

---

*Chassidy's POV*

I got home after sundown. The cars were gone and no one was in the house. No texts or calls from anyone. 'Guess no one really cares about me anymore.' I thought.

I walked up the stairs to my room. I went to my dresser and pulled out anything lose to wear. I went into my bathroom and turned on the warm water to my bathtub. While I let it run I took my clothes off, put my hair down, and removed my makeup I had on from this morning. I looked out my back window, the tides were high.

I ran back to the tub and turned off the water. Then, I went to my closet and grabbed my wetsuit. I sprinted down the stairs and to the back shed.

Giving another glance back at the water, they were definitely calling me. I went in the shed and took out my lucky board and ran to the ocean.

I honestly didn't care how cold the water was, all I knew was I've been holding it back too long and I can't stop because if I do, I might not ever be able to do it one last time.

I ran, ran as fast as I could even though it hurt. But I finally made it to the waves. At last, I was officially home, I kind of went on a little vacation. Soon enough I'll be leaving again, probably never coming back...

One tide was all I wanted and there it was. Forming high and fast. I swam so fast in and turned around. The tide was pulling me in and I tried my best to pull back out. I stood up but I didn't have enough balance and I almost fell. I managed to stay back on.

"Wahoo!" I threw my arms up in the air. Just one was good enough for me. When I made it back in, I saw Tara and some other girls walking behind her.

"Oh look who finally showed up. The brat doll. Where are your Barbie's?" she asked in her Australian accent.

"What do you want?" I said rolling my eyes.

"You haven't been here in a while. I wanted to know where the hell you've been? I've been lonely surfing by myself."

"Go find someone else to mess with." I went to turn around but her hand pulled me back in her direction.

"Did I say to leave? No, exactly." I could smell the shampoo she uses, it was a strong fruity scent.

"Go find someone else to bother because I'm not in the mood for your crap." by now a crowd started to form around us.

"Are you scared? Are you gonna cry home to mommy?" everyone started to laugh.

"No, I have a brain unlike you to start stuff. Tara just leave me alone." I started to turn again, but I was stopped.

"Are you pregnant? Because you obviously look fatter than the last time I've seen you. I mean doesn't she?" Tara asked around and pointed at me. Everyone that was around us started to whisper and shook their heads.

I looked around at everyone who was staring at me. Tara was dying for her answer and everyone else was too. I looked down and walked away from the crowd. I grabbed my board and ran home.

I felt tears on my face. I made it home and darted up the stairs. No one was home yet. I looked for my phone and found it under a pile of clothes.

'Can you please stay the night? I'm not ready for you to go, not now. Tara mocked me and found out...' I texted to Brendan. I took off my suit and turned on the hot water again. I got in and sat there waiting for a text.

'Okay, babe it's going to be alright. I'll be there in 10 but I have to leave by 12:30.' he texted back.

'I don't care, I just can't be alone for right now. And please hurry, no one is home.' I replied and laid in the tub.
