Abandoned: A Wings of Fire Fanfic

Post-Epilogue

A dragon flew to the river's edge. She was a SeaWing, born with the rare and elusive art of animus magic. And she was looking for things to experiment on.

And the royal dragon had just found the perfect thing.

"Oh, little dragonet. You'll be the thing that brings this experiment into place. And, I'll most likely be saving your life," she said. There was a small dragonet laying on the river's side, tangled up in the bushes.

She put her talon on the male dragonet's head. "In a few minutes time, a female scavenger will come along to rescue you. She will be your companion, and she will teach you the language of the scavengers, if they have one. But you will know Dragon. You will instinctively be able to speak it, once the time comes that a normal dragonet would learn it. That is the gift, or curse, depending on the way you look at it, that I give you."

The SeaWing glanced back at the terrified dragonet, and hid. She watched as her plan went into motion. Well, it had to come into motion, as it was animus magic, she thought.

A female scavenger came along, and seemed to be furious. Do scavengers have emotions? It seems quite likely. The little dragonet shifted around in the bushes, and the scavenger jumped. She looked closer, and tentatively started freeing him. 

The hidden SeaWing heard a roar and turned around to see a big female SkyWing who angrily looked for something. Was it the dragonet I just cursed/gifted? And the two - now companions - walked out of sight.

Ah, this will be an interesting experiment.

A/N: And that's the actual end! I wasn't planning on adding this part until I remembered the plot hole where Sky magically knows how to speak Dragon, so I decided to add this part to cover up the hole. And, it technically leaves space for a new story, but if I do write it, it won't include much of Sky or Wren since if Tui writes more books, the thing with Undauntable and the Indestructible City may be addressed. So, bye!
