Chapter 10 Some Deals and Bad Decisions

I got home from school and I saw Derek with my mom. He started to kiss her and there was no way in hell I'm watching that. I walked to Lilly's room.

I knocked on her door, "hey baby you doing okay?"

"Yeah just Derek isn't a nice man," she said looking straight at me.

I thought for a second. What is her opinion on him?

"What's wrong with him? I asked casually.

"He called me a bad word and told mommy to get away from him earlier," she started to play with her hair.

That son of a bitch. He thinks he can come over here and act sweet. Then abuse my mom and insult my baby sister.

"Lilly listen to me okay," I squatted down to her hight, "We're going to leave tonight because it's a Friday okay? Pack some toys you wanna bring then walk downstairs to the lobby okay? But don't go outside."

"Okay I will," she kissed me on the cheek.

I walked out of her room and saw my mom with capsules of valium in her hands.

"Mom!" I yelled.

"What do you want you little shit?" She yelled back with Derek sitting next to her.

"Why do you have Valium next to you?" I asked getting mad.

"Because I need it!" She screamed.

Derek walked up to me and grabbed me. He was very tall and strong so there's no way I can fight him. He threw me into the wall and punched me.

"You fuck up! Don't make your mother cry!" He shouted in my ear.

He picked me up and sat me in a chair. He grabbed my arms and slammed them on the kitchen table. He grabbed a capsule of Valium. He reached for the fridge and grabbed a pitcher of water. She angrily poured it into a bowl. He then grabbed the capsule and chopped the Valium into little pieces. He poured it into the water.

"Now as punishment you little mother fucker, you're going to drink the water!" He yelled.

"No never I'm not an addict like you!" I screamed.

He grabbed my face and punched my nose. It started to drip blood on both nostrils. I was so scared.

"Drink it!" He yelled.

I grabbed the bowl. I looked down and made sure the blood from my nose doesn't get in it. I could hear Lilly crying and my mom laughing.

He wanted me to drink ever last part.

I started to chug it down and as I finished I got dizzy.

"Good now get the hell out of her kid this is no of your business!" He kicked me out of the apartment.

I couldn't walk right the Valium is causing this. I started to see double I couldn't move. Derek threw my backpack to me and my beanie. I grabbed both unsteadily.

I decided Lilly could help me. We walked a few blocks to make it to Rachel's while Lilly would help me.

I made it to the entrance of Rachel's house as soon as I did I collapsed. I couldn't get up. I laid there still. Lilly ran up to the door bell. She kept ringing it over and over again.

"Lilly.... hi," I heard Rachel say.

"Help its Logan!" Lilly screamed.

I saw Rachel run out of the doorframe. She saw me and ran down the stairs. She bent down and went for my lips. She pressed hers against mine and kissed me a few times. I felt a little better.

She dragged me up and helped me walk upstairs. She plopped me down on her bed and put my head on a pillow. I saw her lay down next to me while Lilly played with toys.

Rachel wrapped her arms around me and hugged me. She stayed like this all the way from then till I fell asleep.

I woke up and I felt sick. I turned around and saw Rachel asleep holding on to me. I guess her parents aren't home. I heard spongebob playing downstairs so I know Lilly is fine.

I turned around to face Rachel. I kissed her nose and cheek to wake her up. She started to stir.

"Hey," she fluttered her eyes.

"Hi," I replied feeling super ill.

She looked at me and kissed me cheek. She wrapped her arms tighter around me.

"So Logan... What's going on?" She asked.

"My mom and her boyfriend made me take Valium." I said ashamed.

"The drug thing?" She asked.

"Yes." I replied.

"How are you?" She asked.

"Sick to my stomach, how about you?" I asked.

"I'm great now that you're here," she smiled.

I smiled back.

I got up needing to throw up I grabbed my backpack and a ran. I told Rachel not to follow me because she'll get freaked out.

I grabbed a rag out of my bag to clean my face. I threw up twice.

I grabbed the rag and found a capsule in it. Its the Valium Derek made me take. I looked at it sweating and my heart beating fast. I can't do this I grabbed the capsule and poured all of it in my mouth Rachel ran into the bathroom after not hearing anything for awhile.

She came in to kiss me. But instead she sees my overdosed Valium, unconscious body.
