"You must be Mrs Savage! I'm Florence Williams, we've been expecting you all afternoon and we're so pleased to have you here with us, and may I introduce Fairy May." I shake Heathers hand and focus my attention to Kalani.
"Say you love me." Kalani comes over. We keep running our scene. I perform my blocking and go sit on the couch. I look at the script in my hands to follow along but I zone out.
"Florence!" Kalani yells and I look at her. "Wheres John Thomas?" She asks. I look at her confused and realize that I'm on stage rehearsing the play.
"Oh! I could've sworn he was just here.." I continue my lines and blocking and we get to the end of our rehearsal. "You guys are killing it! It's been 2 weeks since auditions and we are wizzing through this. At this rate we could be fully blocked in 3 weeks, if we try hard enough. You guys are dismissed, thank you! Elena can I talk to you?" Mr Keiboom speaks.
"Yea." I say, grabbing my backpack and follow him to his desk in the corner. "Are you okay? You've been really distracted since Monday." He asks as I sit at his desk. "Yeah.. I just have a lot going on." I smile. "Okay.. if you need to talk to someone I'm here. The team needs you so try to be more observant, okay?" He offers a small smile and I nod.
"Okay you're excused. Thank you Elena." He smiles and begins working on his laptop. I go outside and see Archer in his car waiting for me. I didn't want to but he says he needs help with dissertation and can't ask anyone else since he doesn't have friends in the class.
I get into the car and sigh. "Yo." He says. I honestly didn't even expect a word. "Hey.." I mutter out. "I'm sorry." I whisper. "I know you are." He sends me a half smile as I just stay quiet.
"I'm still right." He mumbles. "Okay comments like that don't need to be said." I roll my eyes. "Okay I'm sorry." He says weakly. "I finished my half of the dissertation." I break the quiet. "Nice.. I'm almost done with mine, I've been doing the paragraph about whatever it is and then doing the slide so I don't have to read notes and try and remember everything." He says as he drives to his apartment.
"That's smart... I should've done that." WhT didn't I think if that. He doesn't say anything. Something is off about him, and I know it's not me because he looks sad and in pain and not in anger.
"Are you okay? Besides me not believing you?" I ask weakly. "Yeah I'm fine. Just a lot going on." He turns to me and gives me a reassuring smile. "I don't like fighting with you.." I whisper.
"Me neither. But I promise you I'm not lying. If I had proof I would give it to you, but I understand why you don't believe me... so for now let's just.. chill." He sighs. "After this dissertation we will never talk again I just need help with 5 topics and it'll be done."
