Ive decided to do this differently by making a small backstory chapter about both of the main characters so you can get a better knowledge of the both of them, instead of just one prologue. Hope you enjoy! -Aphrodite🥀 *** ☀️Elena's Story🌊
Elena was only 7 years old when her life fell into shambles. Her mother and her father were constantly fighting about things she couldn't understand at her age. She has 2 older brothers and one older sister.
Jack, 17, is the oldest. He is only Elena's half-brother, being her father's child but having a different mother.
Ellory, 15, is her older sister. She takes care of Elena the most, being the only responsible one in the household when their parents were away working.
Evan, 8, is Elena's closest sibling seen as how they're so close in age.
They overhear mommy and daddy arguing almost every night until daddy leaves one night and doesn't come back for a week and then the boxes started being packed. One day they were "happy", and the next they were having to pack up all of their toys and pictures in boxes and put them in a large truck.
Jack and Ellory are told that their parents are separating after Evelyn, their mother, cheated on their father with her Ex-Boyfriend.
The ex-boyfriend is nothing, but a trailer trash gangster Wanna-Be. While Taylor Reid, their father, is a big corporation businessman who makes a lot of money. He is in one of the top positions of a major construction company that's known across all of America.
He makes so much money to the point that Evelyn can do nothing but stay at home and spend all of her money online or at the mall and still not have to worry about going poor.
After days of arguing and packing up their house, Elena and Evan have no choice but to go with their mother while Ellory chooses to stay with their father, promising Elena and Evan they'd see each other every week. Elena is still confused as to what's going on, but Evan seems to understand it enough to be sad about it.
Elena's mother doesn't get a good enough job that she can actually do and has to become a hooker to put the smallest of meals on the table, refusing any of Taylor's "pity money" he offers to pay for the children's safety and wellbeing.
After a year of court cases and lawyer bills, Evelyn is left with full custody of the two younger kids, Ellory being old enough to choose to stay with their dad and personally telling the court judge that she wishes to stay with their father, also asking if Evan and Elena can come with her.
Nobody knows how, but it didn't go Ellory's way. Evan and Elena are stuck with their rude, wicked, poor excuse of a mother. While Taylor was being told to never contact the West family and never give them any money no matter the situation.
