"Good morning sleepy head." My Nana says into the phone. "Good morning." I say in a groggy voice. "Are you hungover?" She asks, with a tone that I can tell she didn't want me drunk in the first place. "Not really. I just took some Motrin." I say and go to the bathroom. I put the phone on the counter, so she doesn't see my face. "I'm guessing you skipped school?" She asks and I say a quick mhm, with my mouth being filled with toothpaste.

I spit it out into the sink and I wash my mouth out and run water over my face. I lightly hiss when I press to hard on the big ass bruise under my eye. "You okay Son?" She asks. "Yeah sorry." I say and quickly pick up my phone. "Archer what happened to your eye?" She asks quickly. "What happened? My god boy, what did you do?" My grandpa pops into the camera.

"Nothing it's fine. Jacob owns a boxing gym and I'm getting into it." I know lying is bad, but I can't tell them my dad did it or they'd rush over here and throw a fit. "Damn Arch, you gotta be more careful." My grandpa says sighing. "I know I'm learning how to fight more he just... caught me off guard." Which is the truth, my dad did catch me off guard when he tackled me.

"Just take it easy Archie, we'll be there if you ever need us. Feel free to call whenever." My grandma says with a hint of sadness in her voice.  "Okay, I love you guys." I say half smiling. "We love you too." And with that they hang up. I start cooking myself breakfast when I get another call. "Hello?" I answer without checking the caller ID.

"Hey uh.. are we still tutoring today? It's almost 2 and I didn't see you in class." Elena says and I groan loudly. "Shit I totally forgot... yeah I'm sorry I just had to stay home today. I'll come pick you up, meet me by the C gate once school ends." I sigh into the phone, totally forgetting that its Tuesday. "Oh okay bye." She says and hangs up quickly. Fuck Carter, I don't even care what he says if he knows she's coming over to my house.

"Yes I know.. I'll think about it." She says chuckling to who I think is the drama teacher. She gets in my car and I speed off. "No hello?" She says and I shrug. "Hi." I say monotoned. She just huffs angrily and looks out the window. "Why are you wearing your hood? This car is warm." She says trying to make a joke. "Bad hair day." I reply quickly and she stays quiet.

"Does your little boyfriend know about this?" I smirk and I hear her scoff. "Shut up, Archer." She says angrily. I hear her sniff from beside me. I quickly look at her and look back to the road. "I'm sorry.." I say quietly. "No you're not." She says and I can tell she's upset.

"Okay whatever. You know you and your boyfriend both like to make assumptions about my feelings." I say and she scoffs again. "They're not assumptions they're facts. And here's another fact for you. You're nothing but a spoiled daddy's money brat who's a massive dick and I'm 2 seconds away from pulling the plug on you." She says angrily and I tighten my grip on the steering wheel.
