Elena

"What about this? Keep or donate?" Sierra asks holding up a random pair of shoes I forgot I had. "Donate, I forgot I had them they don't even fit." I snort at how worn out they look. She nods and throws them in the donation box. We keep sorting my clothes when we finally finish. We tape up the boxes and bring them into the living room for the moving company to move them to the truck.
We go back in my room and start clearing out the rest of my closet. I'm working on my old toy chest when Sierra finds Evan's box. "Elena... is this drug money? There's like a thousand bucks in here!" She exclaims. I shush her so my mom does hear. "It's just savings I've gotten from work. My mom takes most of my money for her bills so that's just what I've hidden for a car or maybe a college fund." I say in a whispered tone. I feel bad for lying but I can't tell her it was Archer or she'll scream at the top of her lungs.
"So put this in your suitcase?" She asks quietly and I nod. "Don't tell anyone about it please." I put the box in my suitcase that has my personal belongings that I don't want my mom going through. I zip it up, taking my suitcase out to put it in the pile that stays. I go back into my room and check everything to make sure I have everything out. I take one last look at this shitty room and close the door, feeling happy that I'll never see it again.
"Got everything cleared out?" Ethan asks coming back in. I nod, "Yep." I say lifting a box to bring to the van. We all take the rest of the boxes to the moving van and there really isn't that much since I'm getting new furniture, and my mom doesn't need any of hers. We finish and the moving van starts following Ethan to the house. Sierra chills on my couch while I go see Mrs. Thatcher. "Elena darling, I'm going to miss your kind face around here." She smiles sadly.
"I know I'm sorry." I say while hugging her. "You promise to come visit me, right?" She says and I nod. "Of course, you should come to the Diner one day when I'm working, I usually work every day except Sundays, sometimes I will anyways though." I offer. "That's a lot for a teenager..." she said with shock and sympathy. "Yeah, but it gets me a bit of money so it's not that bad" I smile. "If you say so. I'll miss you." She smiles and hugs me one more time.
She pulls away and we exchange goodbyes and I go back to my apartment, and she goes inside. "Hey Elena, you're leaving now?" Chase comes out. "Hey Chase, I didn't think you'd be up." I turn around and see the bag in his hand. "Yeah, I shouldn't be, but I wanted to give this to you, so you don't forget about me. " He jokes and hands me the present. I smile and open it and it's a blanket. The blanket he gives me every time we're on the roof. "Aww Chase you shouldn't have." I smile. "I didn't but I chose to, I'm going to miss you." He smiles. I give him a fist bump since he's 'too cool for hugs'.
We say goodbye and I promise him I'll still tutor him when he needs it, and he goes back inside his house, and I go get Sierra. Me and Sierra get all the donation boxes and put them in Melanie's truck which she so kindly let us use. By that I mean she sleeps in later than the average person, so we took it since I have my license. We should be expecting a text from her sooner or later.
