June 28th -

today was a chaotic day with my friends, mostly because today will is coming home. Everyone was nervous and stressed about what to do. we didn't want to surprise him, he could still be upset and feel smothered.
we were staying at his house while Joyce went to pick him up that morning, we were going to help him unpack his stuff and we would go to the movies. we weren't going to leave him alone his first day back. I was the most nervous out of all of them. last time I'd seen Will, we came to better terms than before. i told him I loved him, what if it's awkward? we haven't really discussed what we were to each other yet. but of course I wasn't going to rush him, he needs to get better before worrying about that.
as we were sitting in their living room, we heard a car pulling up in the gravel.
we all looked outside through the window, Will looked different. like, different from the last time I saw him. I couldn't tell what it was, he just looked so... tired.
we all walked outside to hug him, he wasn't acting tired. He seemed like he had plenty of energy, he just looked like he was about faint.
I couldn't ask if he was okay, it's probably just the beds he had to sleep on for the past 5 weeks.
we helped him bring his bag in, and helped him put everything back into place.
it was a little awkward, we haven't heard from him in a while. i had no idea what was going through his mind, I couldn't tell if he was happy or sad. both? or neither.
-"well, that new movie is in theaters. we were wanting you to come with us." Dustin said.
-"yeah, we were going to sneak in from scoops again, if you're up for it?" Max asked.
-"yeah, I'll go." he smiled softly.

we all took max's car to the theater. He was quiet, quieter then usual. he didn't seem sad, just like he had nothing else to say.
when we all sat down in the theater, he sat next to me.
The movie we were watching was a comedy, but the more the movie continued, the more I noticed wills breathing was getting heavier.
-"Will, are you okay?" i whisper to him.
he turns his head slowly nodding.
-"are you sure?" I ask, as our eye contact continued.
-"yeah.." he said, before turning towards the screen again.
i was still looking at him for a while, I didn't really notice until Will turned his head again.
-"are you okay?" he asked, since I was still looking.
-"yeah, sorry." I say, looking forward again.

i heard him chuckle a little before watching the movie again, why was he breathing like that. After an hour of the movie passed, Will stood up and rushed out of the theater, we all looked at each other worried.

-"I'll go check on him." I whispered, getting up from my seat and walking out.
I looked around to see where he went until i saw the mens bathroom.
i walked towards it and slowly opened the door.

Will was on the floor, in one of the stalls, throwing up. i slowly walked towards the stall and knocked softly.

-"Will, are you okay?" I called, no response.

he flushed the toilet but didn't leave. I slowly opened the stall door and he was sitting on the floor with his back against the wall.
i walked in and sat down across from him.
-"it's my medication, I'm fine." He sighed.
-"what? that can't be normal!"
-"it's fine, mike. It doesn't matter. my mom wants me taking it so I don't break again." He quoted.
-"did she say that?"
-"not verbally." he crossed his arms.

we stayed quiet for a while as he looked to the floor.
-"you've been quiet all day, what's going on?"

He sighed before resting his arms on his knees.

-"everything. I mean- you don't just come back from a mental hospital after trying to take your own life, being happy." He chuckled at the question, even though neither of us found it funny.
