《Chapter 48》
《Chunany's pov》
When I went outside a beautiful dark skinned woman with immaculately combed greying hair and green eyes was waiting for me, she had parked where Nayla said she would be waiting for me and I recognize her immediately. She smiled and stretched her hand out in greeting to me. "Hello, you must be Chunany?" She questioned.
"I am, you are so beautiful," I told her.
I was happy to see someone with my exact complexion. She beamed and said. "And so are you, you are glowing."
We were both wearing huge smiles. "Tundra asked me to come for you, since Tundra is busy," she said.
It sounded weird but I say. "Oh ok."
We were not driving home I realized, we turned on a curvy road leading through the forest where I saw occasional houses and farms, I was a bit nervous so I asked. "Where are you taking me?"
She laughed softly and said, "I'm taking you to Tundra."
"Oh," I replied.
It appears we were heading to the other side of the island, which was weird because he had never brought me here and I could have sworn he said he was going to work, which was down by the wharf. The landscape changed showing me turn off roads and more closely built homes, I could see and electric power plant off to one side and we drive across a mighty river running by it.
After about fifty minutes we turned into a drive lined with spur trees and came to a stop in front of a beautiful house. A young woman about my age came to the door as we climbed the steps to the porch, she smiled looking at me from head to toe.
"Ohhh," she said with a wide smile brightening her face.
Her green eyes sparkled and I wondered if all his families had green eyes, we walked into a beautiful foyer and the first thing that caught my eyes was my picture and I stood rooted to the spot. I wasn't looking into the camera, I had my crossbow aimed at something and my face was deep in concentration.
"I don't think I will ever get tired of looking at it, though my grandchildren are sometimes jealous." I turned to behold Mr Tundra, his hair was white and his green eyes look at me with interest, they went to my belly and didn't move.
"She is going to be a fiery lass," he said and I look at him confused.
"Come along," he said and walked off to an open doorway, Tundra's grandmother and the young lady was nowhere in sight.
I followed him shortly after and saw them sitting at a huge dining table, a seat was pulled out for me by a man standing at the side and I sat down facing Tundra's grandmother. A woman came in and began to serve us tea, then food was being served. Mr Tundra graced the table and everyone began to eat except me, I looked about nervously.
Someone was boring a hole in the back of my head and I turned to look at the man who had drawn out the seat for me. He looked down when I look at him, he did not have green eyes, when I turned back to the table, everyone was eating and looking at me. I began to eat and Mr Tundra began to speak.
"Tundra hasn't visited in a while, now I know why," he said laughing softly and the others laughed softly too.
"You know I almost thought you were just a picture my grandson had found and fallen in love with, it is no secret his mother has mental issues and I became worried that he might also," the old man spoke again.
