Chapter 1

ME AND MY MOM WERE DRIVING, WITH ME IN THE backseat of the car, on our way to my cousins house since we was moving to beacon hills where they lived. We used to live here ages ago, but I was too young thati barely even remembered it and now I was coming back

I didn't get much details except the fact my moms here to get rid of the werewolves in the town

"We should just go home" I whispered from the backseat and my mum just scoffed as she glanced in the rearview mirror to look at me

The lifestyle mum had, I hated it. She doesn't care who she kills, werewolf or not and doesn't even stop to think if they'd killed someone, she just kills them before finding anything out. She didn't honor the hunters code which was everything the Argent family stood for in the first place

Not all werewolves are like how she thinks, she says they're all evil and murderers but there's no way to be certain of that. She just doesn't see it from my perspective and she never wanted to

"We're not going home Avery fucking suck it up. This is our home now" her tone was angry enough for me to know I shouldn't talk back so I nodded, swallowing the air stuck in my throat

The car came to an abrupt stop as she almost crashed into another car and I took a deep breath to recollect myself

"Nice driving Kate, nice" she whispered to herself and went to drive off again. But this time a sound was heard. We both looked up and mum went ready to attack except the window beside her broke and the person tried attacking her.

I screamed moving as far back in my seat and she grabbed a gun, before shooting upwards and getting out the car. I quickly followed not wanting to be in there anymore

"Come on"
"Come on!" She screamed looking around but there was no one here to hear or see it

"Mum let's get inside, please" I pleaded with her

"Stop being such a pussy ave. I taught you for situations like this, of course you didn't listen and decided to cry in a corner but I taught you nonetheless" I went quiet as she went into the boot and started to run closer to where she thought they were and i knew that I needed to get her. I followed behind her as she lifted up her gun and shot it sending the person to the ground

"Mum" I gasped but she ignored me

"We've been over this" she grabbed my collar
"I'm not sparing anyone for you okay? They need to die" I nodded and she pushed me slightly back just in time for when a car pulled up

"Get in" he said to Kate before the man moved over to me and hugged me tight. It was the first time I had seen him in years
"Hi Avery"

"Hi uncle Chris"

Kate: "Not even a 'hello, nice to see you?'"

"All I've got at the moment is, 'please put the assault rifle away before someone notices'"

"That's the brother I love. Chris there were 2 of them"

"The alpha? How long would it take?"

"I'd give him 48 hours" it only then occurred to me that whatever she used will kill him in that time

"Yes i did my dear Avery. Now get in the car" she sneered at me and I nodded immediately obliging her request
