yoo ri pov:

"here's what we collected at the resevoir," I said, bringing out the two test tubes.

"here's what we got from the garden ponds," minhee said, passing me the two test tubes.

we started measuring the pH values and plotted down the information. it was more or less quite easy, to be honest. it's just writing down our received information, it didn't take too much time.

"I think we're done, we can leave already right?" jangbin asked.

"would yall like to stay for dinner?" jeonghan's helper asked, "sir, your parents aren't coming home today too."

"oh uh, if they want to stay, let them stay," jeonghan replied.

"sure!" minhee replied excitedly.

"I'm okay too," jangbin replied soon after.

their gazes shifted to me.

"oh uh, sure," I replied.

"I'll start cooking now then, sir," the helper said as jeonghan nodded.

"well, what do yall want to do while waiting for the food?" jeonghan asked.

"let's play games! jeonghan, do you have any games?" minhee asked. she seemed so excited to be staying over at jeonghan's for dinner.

"um, no," he replied, "my parents never bought me toys."

"oh it's okay, you can come over to my house to play anytime then!" minhee squealed.

I almost choked on my saliva hearing that. she's whipped for him, isn't she

"oh uh, okay," jeonghan replied. I wanted to laugh at his response. you should've seen how his facial expressions hardened as he forced a smile. hilarious.

"what do yall want to do right now then," jangbin asked.

"yoo ri, any opinion?" jeonghan suddenly cued for me.

"huh? oh um, no," I replied.

"jeonghan, do you have any opinion?" minhee asked.

"nah," he quickly replied. he's probably shocked about minhee's enthusiasm towards him isn't he. I let out a laugh but I quickly stopped when they all turned to look at me.

"yoo ri, wae?" jeonghan asked.

"ah nothing nothing, just thought of something funny. eheh," I replied sheepishly, "yall go on."

"let's play truth or dare?" jangbin asked.

"sure," we all replied.

and the game finally started.

"I'll spin the bottle first, since I suggested it, okay?" jangbin asked as we quickly agreed.

it spun to minhee.

"truth or dare"

"truth!"

"is someone you like in the room right now?"

she looked towards jeonghan and bit her lower lip. gross.

"yes," she replied softly.

"cool. spin the bottle then," jangbin said, motioning for her to spin it.

I get it now. jangbin likes minhee. minhee likes jeonghan. it ends there, I guess? I can tell jangbin honestly didn't expect, or like, that answer.

she spun the bottle, and it went to jeonghan.

"this must be fate! destiny! jeonghannie, truth or dare?" she asked.

"um, truth," he replied. still traumatized by the enthusiasm I see

"do you like me?" she asked in anticipation.

"it's truth, right?" jeonghan asked as she nodded, "no."

"aww it's fine, I'm sure you will in the future, right?"

"no."

"um, okay, go on and spin it," she told jeonghan. I see those tears she's trying to hold back, and there's part of me who wants to pity her, but then there's another part of me just wanting to just tell her that it's impossible. funny.
