yoo ri pov:

not long after, he came back into the room with a set of uniform.

"here, go change okay? and come out quick," he said as I nodded obediently. I quickly changed into the uniform and made my way out. wait- my breath smells so bad, shouldn't I do something about it

"jeonghan, do you have an extra toothbrush"

"why not we share toothbrushes?" he proposed.

"no- if you don't have one, I'll go buy one and come back or something," I said.

"of course I have, wait here," he said. he went to the room at the other side and got me a toothbrush.

"here, use this one," he passed me a purple toothbrush.

I quickly ran into the washroom and washed up as he waited outside patiently.

"you wanna know something?" he asked.

"yeah?"

"that's my toothbrush," he said.

"what- really"

"no," he replied.

"you can't scare me like that you know," I said, smacking his chest lightly, "I'm not open to the extent we share toothbrushes."

"okay, I wont do it again, okay?" he asked, chucking.

"yes good. now let's set off for school," I said, dragging his arm.

with that, we were finally on our journey to school. it was a nice, quiet, journey. until he decided to hold my finger. or should I say, hold my pinky. he hooked his pinky with mine, for some reason it got my heart going wild.

"why only the pinky?" I asked.

"it's like a promise, you see, and also, I thought that you could've been not so comfortable with holding hands openly, especially cuz we're just binded together by the bet and not an actual relationship, jeonghan explained.

"ah okay," I replied. was I disappointed that he didn't hold my hand? maybe. but interlocking pinkies sounded cute too. it felt nice.

not long after, we reached school as he slowly let go of my hand as we made it into our seats.

"did you like this morning?" jeonghan asked.

"w... wae?" I asked.

"I need to know if I'm doing well in the bet, right?" he asked, winking.

"well, how do you feel about this morning then?" I asked back.

"I think you already fell for me," he smirked.

"nah, how can it be," I lied. such a liar. I obviously fell for him already. even he himself could tell-

"hm you sure? I'm sure you were blushing the whole morning, your cheeks are still red now," he said, flicking my head lightly.

"ah- don't do that," I pouted, caressing my forehead.

"was it that pain?" he asked, looking legitimately concerned.

"hah I got you. it's not pain at alll," I laughed.

"don't make these kind of jokes, okay? I don't want anything happening to you. how boring would school be without you, right?" he said, squishing my cheeks.

"dont squish my cheeks like thatt," I complained.

"waee you're so cute," he pouted.

"control yourself in school at least- I don't want my cheeks looking all red and puffy in school like some pufferfish," I explained.

"so at home I can do that, right?" jeonghan asked.

"n... nope," I replied, "not here, not at home, nowhere," I stated clearly.

"who told you to be so cute then your cheeks are really nice to squish" he sighed.

"how am I even cute-" I scoffed.

"dont ever question yourself, you'll always be the cutest in my eyes, okay?" he assured, patting my head. honestly, that did get the inner me excited, but of course I had to keep my composure, so I just quickly looked away, breaking the eye contact with him.

how does he even say such stuff so casually like it's something normal to say on a daily basis, he really knows his stuff doesn't he..?

"o- okay class is starting, get ready," I said.
