Chapter 15 - The fall of the Night Fury

Five days.

Five days of patiently waiting.

I've given Hiccup some of my special medicine every hour, just to be safe. But he hasn't woken up. He's not dead, he's just been knocked out cold by yours truly.

Right now, I'm heading back to Hiccup's. Eret is looking after Hiccup at the moment. We've been doing shifts; me, him, me, him. Valka also got another bed out in his room; officially a bed to call my own.

The other riders have visited him. They kinda just looked at him, asked if he will eat them, then walk out. Then Ruff kissed her fingers and put them on Eret's lips. He was repulsed by that. But his face was hilarious.

I walk through the streets, some villagers giving me weird looks along the way. They always have given me looks, but the reason why they are doing it now really bugs me.

I'm the girl that stopped the chief from gorging into someone.

It's a great title really. It truly is.

I hear a snort from above and I look up to see Ruthless just fly above me and land in front of me.

"Hey" I say, scratching her head.

'You alright?' she asks in a grunt.

I sigh. "Yeah. My arm is healed already, but...but I'm confused."

'So am I.'

I sigh, walking back to Hiccups house with Ruthless by my side.

We get to the door, and I slowly push it open and I see Toothless on the floor, just beside the fire.

"Hey bud" I say, wincing when I realise I said bud.

Seriously? Hiccup with the M'lady, and now you with the Bud?

Toothless looks up at me, giving me big puppy dog eyes.

"Come on Toothless...you can't be scared of your own rider. He won't hurt you again...ever."

'But what about you?' he whimpers.

"I'm fine" I say. "He won't do it again. What happened before was...was...it was a mistake. It can't happen again."

He doesn't look too sure.

"Toothless...he would never...ever do that, you know? He would never hurt you."

'He shot me down so...' he grumbles.

"He didn't know you then! And anyway, you wouldn't of met him of he didn't."

Toothless whines, licking his paw. I walk over to him, looking at the paw that Hiccup bit.

"What the...."

The wound hasn't healed, and it is swollen. It looks...it looks like Hiccup just bit him three seconds ago.

"Keep licking it Toothless" I say, rubbing his head.

He purrs and I pat his head, walking up the stairs. I see Ruthless go over to Toothless and lick his wound, but to no avail.

I slowly push open the door and smile at Eret. He sees me and smiles back, standing up. I walk over to him, biting my lip.

"Anything?" I ask.

He shakes his head. "Nothing."

He looks so peaceful...innocent...poor Hiccup. Why did this have to happen to you? You don't deserve this at all.
