You made your way from your room to the party on your own.

You couldn't be asked to bring a date because you didn't want to risk catching feelings. You didn't have time for a relationship.

When you got to the party, you started looking for the others. You saw Natasha and Steve by the bar so you went to join them.

"Hey guys."

"Hi y/n" Steve smiled.

"Hey" Nat grinned. "You look great."

"Thanks... as do you."

You ordered a drink and a packet of crisps, then took a seat next to Nat.

"Remember not to drink too much" she whispered.

You simply rolled your eyes and drank from your glass. You knew you should listen, but you didn't really care.

You talked for a bit, then someone else came over and sat next to you. Agent Carter.

"Hey everyone" Sharon smiled.

"Hi Sharon." / "Hey." / "Hello Sharon." You, Steve and Natasha greeted her.

"You look amazing" you added.

"Oh not compared to you."

You shrugged smugly.

"Crisps?" you offered her your packet.

"No thanks. I'm on a diet."

"Ew."

"Yeah, I know, so dull. I wish I could be like you."

"What?"

"Well you can just eat so much and you don't have to worry about putting on the weight. You're so skinny and you don't even watch what you eat."

You looked down with slight embarrassment.

"I mean, how do you do it?"

"Um I... I'll be back in a sec" you excused yourself and left before the others could stop you.

"Really, Sharon?" Natasha sighed.

"Did I say something wrong?"

"Why the hell would you comment on her body? That's not okay!" Natasha cried, then ran after you.

She found you in the bathroom, but the door was not locked.

"Hey y/n, you okay?" she asked as she stepped in. She closed the door behind her.

You said nothing as you stared at your reflection in the mirror.

"Don't listen to Sharon. She was way out of line saying that."

"It's not fair Natasha."

"I know."

You didn't stop looking at yourself in the mirror so Natasha stepped in the way and hugged you.

"Do you want to go back to the party?"

"Yeah... yeah I was barely there. Haven't had the chance to annoy Tony yet" you forced a laugh.

"Okay. I'll get you another drink, but you can't tell Clint. He does not need to know I was involved in getting you drunk."

"Don't worry, I won't tell him" you smiled.

You left the bathroom with Natasha and returned to the bar to get drinks. Luckily, Sharon had moved.

Steve was still there, and Bucky had joined him. They smiled at you as you walked over.
