(Y/N)'s POV

Third day of school wasn't as tough as the last two days. Eventually people grew bored of me and left me alone. things for once were going smoothly and I felt at peace. Things seemed to go smoothly.

"Hey (Y/N)!"

Or so I thought.

I turn around, now facing the girl with pink hair, I eventually learn that her name is Diana. She was pretty, and also popular, I didn't know why she was so interested in me. I forced myself to smile, "Hey...Uh, Diana." I stutter.

"I saw you with Dee and his little brother yesterday, you guys seem to really hit it off!" That cheerful voice of hers sounded awfully forced, the way she stared at me felt like she was trying to stab me with her eyes.

"I guess you could say that" I shrug, "to be honest, it was really Heavy who wanted to hang out, Dee was just forced to tag along."

Her expression changed from 'happy' to shocked. "Oh...Really?" She cleared her throat, her now fake smile replaced by a sincere, awkward, 'whoops' smile. "Well, that's a relief." She giggled at me, "I mean, not that I care, im just happy you're making friends, as fellow classmates we gotta stick together." Diana placed her hand on my shoulder, leaning in close to my ear so only I could hear.

"But an advice from a fellow friend? You should keep your distance from him."

What?

Stunned, I watch as Diana goes to join her group of friends, going back to her happy voice.

What was that about?

I shake my head, I need to stop spacing out like that, I looked like a dumbass standing in the middle of the hallway.

"Hey, (Y/N)! Wait up!"

Oh, what now?

I sigh, frustrated. My mood, however, shifted when I noticed that this time it was heavy, who was more pleasant than Diana.

"Oh...Hey, Heavy!" I greeted with a bright smile as i wait for him to catch up to me. "Yesterday was awesome! You gotta play more for me! Maybe you could teach me?"

I blush, laughing nervously as I scratch the back of my neck. "I don't know...I kinda only feel comfortable if it's with my own guitar." I reply. It was true, my guitar not only was the perfect shape for me, it was customized and made to fit me. I could play on any regular guitar, sure, but I always felt more confident with my own guitar.

Heavy pouted, kicking the floor. "Mannnn" he sighed, "well, what if you could get your guitar next time? Is it an electric? My dad has an amplifier! Or maybe you could borrow one of his! Well...M-Maybe....Maybe...Not...Hah."

I chuckle, shaking my head. "Sorry, I gotta use my guitar." I stated, "but...Maybe I could go by on Friday? Is that cool with you?"

As if I flipped a switch, Heavy lit up, nodding his head. "Deal!" He stretched his hand out for me to shake. I roll my eyes playfully, but shake his hand without a second thought. "It's a deal then!"

~~~
After my small talk with Heavy, I had to head to class. I had the period with Dee, who I surprisingly haven't seen today. I open the door, seeing that a few people were already here, one of those being Dee. Dee was staring out the window, wearing earbuds, Diana sat beside him, though she was speaking to her friends. I could see her shoot glances towards Dee. She was definitely crushing on him...hard. Was that why she was threatening me?
I sat behind Dee, before I pass him I made sure to shoot him a smile. He didn't reply, just...glanced at me.
I made sure to get ready for the class, and soon, the teacher walked in.
Dee's POV
I stared out the window, blasting some music through my earbuds as I waited for the teacher to arrive.
I knew Diana kept looking over to me. I just simply didn't care, however, it was starting to get annoying.
I notice (Y/N) walking in. I shoot them a glance, not really feeling like saying anything. Not that I could hear, all I could hear was the sound of the guitars blasting my ears.
I stop the current song that was playing as soon as the teacher walked in.
"Alright, alright, settle down. I said settle down!" The teacher demanded, slamming his ruler onto the table. The room quickly went quiet.
"I usually don't like to do this, but uh...the school wants me to...teach you all "social skills" and whatever...shenanigans."
I raise my eyebrow, this time putting my full attention to him.
"So we're gonna do a uhhh....partner project."
Some kids would cheer, while the others groaned. I kept a very neutral face, but inside I was irritated that I had to do some stupid project with some stupid..someone.
I knew I would end up doing all the work in the end.
I could feel eyes on me, I could tell Diana was staring at me again. Did she want to be partners? I'm not interested. She's not so dumb, but definitely would end up doing nothing helpful.
"However, I'm going to be the one making the groups."
Now the whole class was groaning.
After some time, there was only a few more people left that needed a partner.
The teacher looked at his board of attendance, he fidgets with his glasses before calling (Y/N). "Since you're new, you don't have to do this..I could give you another assignment for this grade."
The poor sucker had all eyes on them. I kept staring at the board, but even I could feel the tension surrounding them.
"N-No sir..I don't mind working on the project."
"Great, you're with Dee."
I sigh. I guess I couldn't complain, they seemed pretty nice, and I know Heavy would be happy to spend more time with them.
A part of me even felt a bit excited to hang out. Even if it meant I do all the work again.
~~~

School was finally done, I began packing my things. (Y/N) approached me sort of cautiously, seeming nervous to talk to me.

"I guess it's a good time to mention that Heavy invited me over again." They claim, chuckling nervously.

"Again?" I raise my eyebrow at them. "Guess it can't be helped...We got two weeks to finish this, but if you're gonna be messing around just tell me now so I can work on it on my own."

They frown, shaking their head. "The project doesn't seem so tough, I can do my part, you know."

"Well? What days are you available? The weekend?"

"No..."

"How about tomorrow?"

"N-no..."

I scoff.

"You know what? I don't have time for this, ive to get Heavy...give me your phone."

I watch as they search through their bag, finally pulling out their smartphone. They hand it to me after unlocking it.

I open up the phone app, typing down my number and adding it to their contacts.

"There, text me when you're free...only so we can work on the project. Okay?" I say, glaring at them while giving them their phone back.

"Got it, got it."

With that, they say goodbye, walking out the room.

It was really going to be a long two weeks. Wasn't it?
