NIGHT HAD NOW FALLEN and the stars outside had begun to come through, the group had been sitting in the small, confined bus for hours now. It was Lucas's turn to check, and he climbed up the ladder with his binoculars to see from a distance, he watched with a heaving breathing while everyone else stayed inside the bus.

Anastasia was sat beside Max, who had her arms crossed and was watching Steve continue to flick his lighter on and off. That was when she asked, "So, you really fought one of these things before?" Steve looked over at them and nodded as Max continued, "And you're, like, totally, one hundred percent sure it wasn't a bear?"

Dustin was pacing around when he exclaimed, "Shit. Don't be an idiot. Okay? It wasn't a bear. Why are you even hear if you don't believe us? Just go home."

Max stood up and Anastasia watched her, "Geesh. Someone's cranky. Past your bedtime?" She finished as she joined Lucas on the roof leaving just Steve, Anastasia and Dustin.

Once Max was out of sight, Steve spoke up. "That's good. Just show her you don't care."

Dustin stopped his pacing and looked at him. "I don't." Steve winked at him and Anastasia laughed. "Why are you winking, Steve? Stop."

Anastasia stopped her chuckling and everything went silent for a moment, just until they heard a roaring sound which sent shivers up her spine. They rushed over to the small window which they could hardly see anything. Dustin asked, "You see him?"

"No." Steve and Anastasia answered at the same time.

"Lucas, what's going on?" Dustin shouted up to Lucas.

"Hold on!" Lucas shouted back and then he exclaimed. "I've got eyes! Ten o'clock! Ten o'clock!"

They could all hear the growls coming from out side and Steve pointed out. "There."

"What's he doing?" Anastasia asked, puzzled. She could feel her palms starting to sweat and her adrenaline beginning to pump as she focused her attention on the unhuman sounds coming from outside.

Steve shook his head in response. "I don't know." They waited but Steve continued. "He's not taking the bait. Why is he not taking the bait?"

"Maybe he's not hungry?" Dustin suggested.

"Maybe he's sick of cow." Steve resorted.

Steve stood up and the other two watched him as he walked around the bus, Dustin asked. "Steve? Steve, what are you doing? Steve?"

Steve grabbed his bat from off the ground, his breathing was heavier and he held up a lighter for them to see. "Just get ready."

Anastasia glanced at Dustin who looked worried for the older boy and sighed, knowing she would be more help outside with Steve fighting the Demogorgon's than inside. "I will come and help you, Steve."

Steve brought his attention over to her and rolled his eyes, knowing that he couldn't argue with the girl as she went and stood beside him. Steve tossed the lighter over to Dustin who immediately caught it, as they stepped out of the bus, Steve held his bat just at his waist as the sounds of the creatures filled the midnight air.

Anastasia remained close to Steve, her eyes darting around as she looked out for the deadly creatures. Steve suddenly raised his bat higher and whistled, just as Anastasia nudged him with a stern expression. "Do you want it to come and kill us or what?" In which he just shrugged his shoulders at.

"Come on, buddy." Steve said a little nervously, as he continued to whistle despite Anastasia's protests, "Come on, Buddy. Come on, buddy. Come on, dinner time. Human tastes better than cat, I promise." He started to swing his bat from side to side, creating a gushing sound as Anastasia's hands lit off a red, circular shape.

Her eyes widened as they came face to face with the Demogorgon, as Steve stopped moving. Then suddenly, Lucas shouted out. "Steve! Anastasia! Watch out!"

"A little busy here!" Steve shouted back.

"Three o'clock! Three o'clock!" Lucas continued to shout, his voice cracking a little.

Anastasia and Steve turned around at the same time, eye widening as they saw more of the Demogorgon's coming out of the shadows watching them. Dustin rushed over to the opening of the bus, "Steve! Ana! Steve! Abort! Abort!"

They turned back around just as one of the Demogorgon's begun to speed up, heading straight for them. Steve leaped out of the way just as Anastasia stood her ground and raised her hand in the air, moving her arm to the side as the Demogorgon got thrown to the side of one of the cars as the teenagers shouted for them to run. The two fought them away as Anastasia ran behind Steve back into the bus, they managed to close it before the Demogorgon's got into the bus.

"Shit!" Dustin cursed, as Steve held his leg up to the door.

Max then asked. "Are they rabid or something?"

Steve placed some more of the scrapped metal on the door as Lucas said. "They can't get in! They can't!"

Steve continued to kick at the door as the sounds of the Demogorgon's trying to get in shook the bus, making them scream as Anastasia got herself ready again just incase they did manage to get inside. Steve kept on kitting one of them with his bat as Dustin rushed over to his radio, "Is anyone there? Mike? Will? God! Anyone!" Then one of the Demogorgon's rammed itself into the side as they screamed again, Anastasia pushing them out of the way and standing in front of them. Dustin proceeded with talking into the radio. "We're at the old junkyard, and we are going to die!"

Anastasia's attention was brought to Max who was staring up at the gap in the ceiling, just as a Demogorgon appeared and growled at her. Anastasia pushed her out of the way as she sprawled her arms out in front of the younger teens, as Steve appeared quickly. "Out of the way! Out of the way! You want some? Come get this!"

However, just as the Demogorgon was about to attack it paused and looked away, growling even louder as it leaped off the bus, followed by the rest as the monsters growled in the distance. They waited just for a moment in case they came back again, but then decided on checking outside. Steve led out the way first and everyone followed behind.

"What happened?" Lucas was the first one to ask the question everyone had been wondering.

"I don't know." Maxine replied.

Dustin then guessed. "Ana and Steve scared 'em off?"

"No." Steve turned back around, his bat resting on his shoulder. "No way. They're going somewhere."
