Chapter VI

"Okay Anya, we have brought our hamburger steak and a bit of grocery, is there something you would like in here before we go to the bakery?" Loid asked as he looked at Anya who sat in the child seat of the shopping cart

Anya looked around at where they were, which was the aisle filled with snacks and candies before she turned to her father, "Peanuts" she said, her choice clearer and more determined than anything else

Loid couldn't help but chuckle at that before he nodded, "Okay, to the peanuts we shall go", he said as he maneuvered the cart to the cashier to pay.

"Is there something else that you would like to have?" Loid asked as he and Anya stared at the menu which listed the different kinds of baked delicacies

Anya stared hard and well at what was infront of her before she pointed to one of the desserts which were cookies that seemed to have almonds on top

"Cookies please" she said as she looked at her father who nodded before he turned to call one of the waitresses

Anya wiggled in her seat as looked around her trying to figure out where the restroom would be, Loid who took notice of her actions asked, "Do you need to go to the restroom?"

Anya turned to him before nodding. "Would you like me to accompany you?" Loid asked to which Anya shook her head as no, she was a big girl now and trusted in herself that she could do it

Loid seemed to notice that so he nodded, "Okay, the restroom is right over there, I will still be able to see and hear you so if you need help just wave or call me okay?" Loid said as he helped Anya get down from her seat

Anya nodded at him before she scurried off to where the restroom was and once near, she turned around just to make sure that her father could indeed see her, to which Loid nodded and gave a small wave as a sign.

When Anya was done and had stepped out of the restroom, she froze at not seeing her father where he was before

A lady behind her, being too busy arguing on her phone with one hand and a coffee cup in the other, didn't notice Anya thus bumped into her making her fall to the floor and the lady to drop both the phone and coffee, fortunately the cup of coffee had a cap on so it didn't spill until it was on the floor which meant no one was burnt by the hot liquid but the phone was not so fortunate as it cracked as soon as it fell

A slim hand swiftly and gently straightened Anya and moved her away before the hot coffee could reach her, being a little surprised by her fall Anya let herself be moved by the person

Before Anya could turn and look at who had saved her, the lady infront of her began screaming in anger which made her, and all the people surrounding, focus their attention to the lady who right now was pointing her sharp nailed finger at the little girl

Anya, becoming fastly scared of the lady, leaned further into her saviour which she discovered was a woman, her saviour noticing her fear she immediately brought the little girl behind her as she stood up to try and reason with the infuriated lady

Anya knew as she clutched at her saviour's skirt that the two women were talking but she couldn't hear them, actually it seemed that all the noise inside the small bakery became drowned out turning into incomprehensible mumbles the more she was swallowed by fear

Fortunately before Anya could further drown from fear her father's voice echoed, reaching her ears amidst the muffled noise

"Anya!" Loid exclaimed in relief as soon as he found his daughter clutching at a woman's skirt, he was a little surprised by that but before he could further wonder about it, Anya launched herself into his legs as she screamed for him

"Papa!" she cried out into her father's legs then his neck when Loid carried her up into his arms, "Are you okay?" Loid asked softly to his daughter to which Anya nodded but didn't move from her clutch of his neck and waist

Both women stopped at Anya's voice and turned to her direction and saw that now she was being carried

"I'm sorry, did my daughter do any harm?" Loid apologized as he stared at the women infront of him

The two women shook their head though one did so rather vigorously almost flinging her head off while the other was more flustered

' He's so handsome! '

Anya's saviour was about to explain what had happened when the lady interrupted

"Oh no she didn't do anything, I was just trying to make sure she was okay from the things I dropped when this lady wouldn't let me near her" lied the mean lady coquettishly, ' Damn, he really is a sure catch! Unlucky he's married though' thought the mean lady as she stared Loid up and down

Anya's saviour stared at the woman in shock while Loid remained neutral as he actually had heard a bit of what was really happening before he came into the picture so he just gave a nod in response

Awkward silence enveloped them for what felt like hours before the lady walked a step forward which made Anya's saviour move to stop her the same moment Loid moved back away from the woman as he tightened his hold in Anya

The woman chuckled awkwardly at their action before she turned to grab her fallen stuff and walked out of the bakery in a hurry

When she was totally gone, Anya's saviour gave a sigh of relief before she turned to the father-daughter duo and gave a small smile at the little girl she helped who was now more calm and currently looking at her

"Are you alright, little girl?" The woman asked softly as she remained in her place to not scare the little girl again

"Anya" Anya introduced herself as she nodded to her saviour's question

"Nice to meet you Ms. Anya" the woman smiled then she laid her hand out for a shake to both of them, "My name is Yor, Yor Briar"

"Loid Forger" Loid said as he shook her hand.

It was unknown to all of them but their lived were meant to be intertwined in more ways than they believed. Would it be for the better of one other or will this meeting bring trouble and problems?
