"Hi Michael,"
" Hi Luke," He replied still smiling that same devilish smile. " So have we met?" Michael asked turning to me.
" Yes," I replied, it was the truth, he obviously doesn't remember me.
He scrunched his eyebrows together obviously thinking. Maybe the alcohol in his blood last night prevented any memory of me actually lasting in his head.
Michael took the initiative to take a seat next to Luke, forcefully pushing Luke aside. He sat infront of me, ignorant to the fact it's rude to stare, he stared at me until I could practically see a lightbulb go off above his head.
" You were at the party last night!" He exclaimed and pointed at me. Before Luke or I could reply, he continued to put the pieces together.
" You were with him," He said as he pointed at Luke, "We both punched that guy, in the batman costume?" He questioned.
" Yeah," I replied with a half smile amused by the way Michael seemed so proud of himself for remembering this all on his own.
" Then you two left... together," Michael spoke slowly reaching the end of the story, I began dreading if he were to work out what came after that. Judging from the way Michael slowly turned his head towards Luke with a smirk on his lips and an eyebrow raised, he had an idea.
" Luke-" He started before he was cut off.
" Michael, I swear if you do not get up right now and bring us a Pepperoni pizza with god dam curly fries I will light your hair on fire," Luke said turning his head to look at Michael in the face as he spoke sternly to him.
"Jeez, okay," Michael said as he moved away and stood up. He acknowledged me with a nod before walking away and scribbling the order on the notepad.
"Sorry about that," Luke sighed apologetically.
"Honestly, don't be sorry," I smiled and let out a small laugh, it was entertaining to watch them banter like that.
Then Luke and I chatted until our food was served, a different waiter placed the food down and we didn't see much of Michael since he walked off writing down our order.
It was quiet between us while we ate, at certain moments we made eye contact and I couldn't determine if it was awkward eye contact.
The rest of our time spent in the restaurant consisted of us finishing our food and Luke asking me if I was ready to get out of here. I told him yes, but first I needed to use the bathroom.
In the women's bathroom, once I was done with my business I stood at the sink washing my hands, I looked at my reflection in the mirror. Once I dried my hands I messed around with my hair until I was frustrated enough to just leave it as is and accept that no improvements are happening any time soon. I examined my makeup and looked down at what I was wearing, wondering if it was the right choice for this date.
Then the bathroom door swung open and another lady entered to use the restroom. It clicked me back into reality and I realised the extent of just how much I was worrying about how I look. Why am I so concerned about looking good? I'm never usually the type of person wanting to impress anyone. Maybe that's just it, I want to impress someone, I want to impress Luke.
I took one last glance in the mirror before leaving the bathroom and looking around the restaurant for him. The table we sat at had been cleared and he was no longer sat there. It took seconds for me to spot him again, his bright red flannel stood out as his tall frame stood near the exit of the restaurant. I walked towards him, as I neared he noticed me and smiled when we made eye contact, I naturally smiled back without thinking about it.
"Let's get out of here," He smiled and nodded his head towards the exit.
He did yet another gentleman action and offered me his arm in order to escort me out. I accepted and linked my arm with his hand.
"I honestly think you just keep doing all these to annoy me by this point," I said to him regarding the way he acts like a gentleman which makes me feel like I can't do things for myself.
"Maybe," He smirked as he opened the door. I smiled and rolled my eyes knowing that 'maybe' meant 'yes'.
We continued to walk to the car, our arms still linked as he escorted me. I opened the car door for myself before he could. I climbed up into the tall car while he jumped in with ease, then we started driving, once again I didn't know where we were headed.
"Are you going to tell me where you are taking me?" I asked curiously and quiet annoyed because I didn't recognise the route he was driving.
"Some where without interuptions," He replied with a sweet smile, that adorable dimple poked into his cheek.
"That sounds nice," I replied, my lips curved into a simple smile and I leaned my head back into the head rest.
