Suguru

FUCK.

Oh my god. Oh my god. He knows we cuddled? I thought I woke up before he had a chance to realize. Oh my god.

I tried to hide my panic but had to clear my throat before I could get a word out,

"Oh, um, it was okay. I mean, the sleeping-on-the-floor part wasn't the comfiest, but we have slept next to each other before. Not a big deal."

Internally, I'm relieved it's dark outside so the blush I feel spreading to my ears isn't noticeable.

Waking up filled with Satoru's scent was already enough to throw me for a loop, but the fact that I could hear his heartbeat in my ear, move with his chest as it rises and falls with each breath, and feel his arm around me... It was all too much. My heart was bound to explode.

This morning, I did my best not to wake him as I got ready. I felt a smidge of guilt at leaving him there like that, but the alternative was out of the question.

"Good, I'm glad," Gojo's voice brought me back,

"It was nice. I haven't slept that well in a while, but yeah, maybe next time we should fall asleep on the actual bed."

Oh man, what is he saying? Does he even realize?

Thankfully, we arrive at the University before I have to respond to that. As soon as he parks, I hope out of the car, hoping we can leave whatever that conversation was back there.

"How was your day?" I ask.

"Uneventful. Just caught up on homework at the library. What about you?"

We slip into our regular conversation habits as we make our way back to the dorm.

The following Tuesday rolls around and I'm finally done with my classes for the day. My Feudal Japan course was kicking my ass, so luckily Haru was available at the moment to help me with some homework.

We were currently in a tea shop a few blocks off of campus, our drinks precariously placed next to my sprawled textbook.

I rubbed the crease between my eyebrows and huffed out a sigh in frustrations,

"Why do I even need to know this shit? It happened like hundreds of years ago."

"Oh come on, it's cool! This was the time of shoguns and samurai! That's gotta count for something," Haru exclaims with a grin on his face.

I take a sip of my now lukewarm tea, pulling a face at the temperature,

"And now my tea is cold. Great."

Haru smiles again, pointing to his empty cup as well,

"I'll get us refills. I'm going to try that orange ginger blend."

"Just Wakoucha for me still," I smile back as I hand him my cup,

"Thank you so much."

He walks back towards the cafe's counter and I smile at how easy it was to be around my old boyfriend. We had been best friends for so long, I'm glad we didn't lose that over the break up.

My phone vibrates on the table and I pick it up to see a message from Gojo.

Hey, got any plans for dinner?

I sigh and then text him back.

Nope, why?
