Satoru

"You just need to get out of your head, like I told you last time, Gojo," Sora says, shaking their head as we pack up our art supplies.

"Usually things come easily for me, so it's just frustrating how I can't even draw a bowl of fruit," I scoff, shoving my drawing pad and pencils into my backpack.

We've been doing art club for the last three Tuesday nights so far, and I was actually kind of struggling getting the hang of it. Which is new territory for me.

Sora rolls their eyes as we head out of the classroom behind the rest of the club,

"Maybe don't start with the fruit then. Try something that you find easy to look at."

"I just can't even get the orange round enough-"

"Gojo, let go of the fruit."

"Fine, fine," I run a hand through my hair,

"Want to grab a coffee or something? I have some time to kill before I pick up Geto from work."

Sora nods, their short blue bangs flopping a bit,

"Sounds good to me, there's still this cafe open across campus let's head there."

Leaving the art building we start our walk across campus. I pull a cigarette out and offer Sora one, to which they politely decline. Once I've taken a few puffs, they ask me how often I pick up Geto from work.

"Almost every shift actually, it's routine for me to get him at this point," I say with a chuckle, thinking about seeing him later made my cheeks start to grow warm.

They poke my bicep hard and let out a laugh,

"Oh you like him?"

"What- Sora? I mean- What makes you think-"

"Why else would you be his personal chauffeur?"

Groaning at their perceptiveness, I tug out the last bits of nicotine from my cig and stomp it out,

"Fine. I like him... a lot."

Sora gives me a grin as we keep walking,

"I knew it. You two always have this aura about you when you're together."

"Aura? What the fuck is that?"

"Don't play stupid, you're both like magnets. I saw it during our study session a few days ago," Sora snorts as we round a corner,

"Not to mention, Shoko is not subtle with making sex jokes about you two. She's really funny."

"She's really mean, is what you meant to say," I grumble, stepping ahead to open the door of the cafe for them before trailing in behind them.

We each ordered a drink, Sora stuck with a decaf latte and I got a regular white mocha. And once we are both sat I ask them,

"You mentioned earlier to draw something that I find easy to look at?"

They nod, the large dried orange earrings they had on were dangling almost to their shoulders,

"Yeah, anything you think is beautiful. Nothing is too hard or too simple. Just make an outline and go from there. It gets easier with practice."

"You're a literal Fine Arts major, of course it gets easier for you."

"And it'll get easier for you, trust me. Once you get basic sketches down, we can move onto paints. I have a feeling you'll really like oil painting and pastels," They insist and so I smile, happy at their enthusiasm.
