Another couple of weeks and I didn't know what to do. I knew he was planning to show up again eventually, but I was losing my patience. I wasn't someone patient to being with. It was now the end of July and I hadn't seen him since the start of June.
Jiraya had came back from his mission, so at least as I was wasted and absolutely dead tired every night.
The pervy sage always liked to drag me to the weirdest of places just to see women. Sometimes I felt like a babysitter. I wasn't interested in women, and the white haired man had soon to realize it, I guessed.
As I was walking home, I stumbled upon drunkards coming out of a tavern. They started to talk to me, voice slurred from the alcohol.
-Hey kid, want some? One of them with long black hair said.
-What's this? I asked taking the bottle he extended.
-It's magic water. It makes you laugh and have a good time, one of his comrades said from behind him.
I was suspicious, but then again, it sounded cool. So I took the bottle, bid them goodbye and headed towards my house.
When I got there, I took off my shoes as always and threw my shirt across the room, not caring where it landed. I made a quick sweep of the floor to make sure Sasuke wasn't there. When I figured he wasn't, I took off my pants and headed for the shower.
I turned on the water to liquid magma temperature and hopped in. The hot water sliding against my skin felt like heaven. I could feel my muscles tense in delight. My skin absorbed the heat from the shower. I completely relaxed and let my mind drift. I tried to focus and not think of Sasuke. I had a gut feeling something special was happening tomorrow. However, I couldn't figure out what. Did I have a mission? No. Tomorrow is the 23 of July.
That's when it hit me. Sasuke's birthday. At that point, I was fairly certain he was going to show up. So, I reluctantly stopped the shower and stepped out, grabbing the nearest towel. I dried my hair first before tieing the towel around my waist.
I walked out of the bathroom to be face to face with Sasuke Uchiha who was standing a feet away from me. My face broke into a huge grin and I lunged at him.
-Sasuke! I exclaimed.
We stumbled upon the bed and that's when I realized I only had a towel on and I was on top of him in my bed. My face grew red as I jumped away from him in an instant.
-S-sorry! I mumbled.
I turned around looking for the closest clothes I could find and walked out of the room closing the door to change as fast as possible.
I threw the towel on a chair and walked back to my room. Sasuke was still laying on the bed waiting for me. He looked peaceful with his eyes closed and for a moment I wondered if he had fallen asleep.
The floor creaked as I walked in and he opened his eyes. He smirked at me.
-Took you long enough.
-Teme, I mumbled under my breath.
He sat up in my bed with a twinkle in his eyes.
-What was that?
-Nothing! I replied quickly.
Before I knew it, he was chasing me around my own apartment. I tried to tell him to stop but he wouldn't. He only stopped once he had grabbed me and threw me on the couch. He was chuckling lightly, which is a once in a lifetime sight. I couldn't help but to start laughing too. I was breathing heavily from all the laughing and running around.
Sasuke stood up and looked around until his eyes landed on the bottle the weirdos had giving me earlier.
-What's that? He said grabbing it.
I stood up and walked to his side.
-I was told it was magic water, I explained.
Sasuke opened up the cap and smelled it. His nose scrunched up in disgust. He looked over at me with an eyebrow raised.
-Yea, that's alcohol, you moron. He deadpanned.
-So what? I said confidently as I took the bottle from him and took a big sip.
I regretted it instantly. The liquid was burning my throat. I forcefully swallowed it. I looked over at Sasuke with tears in my eyes. He chuckled.
-I take it you've never drunk before. He stated.
-I drank plenty of times! I exclaimed taking another swing of the bottle.
I didn't know why I didn't want to admit that it was disgusting, but I didn't. I wanted to prove him wrong for some reason.
Sasuke left me with the bottle and walked around the little apartment. He looked at the mess in the living room and the plates piled up everywhere in the kitchen. My ramen addiction in full display of his eyes.
Without really realizing what I was doing, I took another sip of the alcohol. It surprised me so much that I almost choked. I swallowed the bitter liquid and followed Sasuke around.
-What do you want to do? I asked him.
-Nothing much, he answered.
We opted to sit on the couch and talk for a moment. I asked him what he had been doing since I last saw him. He told me he had been training with Kakashi. Our sensei knew of Sasuke's plan and supported him for it. I was just glad Sasuke wasn't alone in this.
I ended up feeling giddy and groggy after a while of sipping on the drink. I went to stand up, but immediately sat back down.
-Are you drunk, yet? Sasuke asked smirking.
-Am not! I replied childishly.
-Whatever, he said.
He stood up and I forced myself to stand up with him. I was scared he was getting ready to leave, so I turned on the radio and grabbed his arm spinning him around. I put both my arms around his neck and he just froze there as I started swaying us to the rhythm. I grabbed his arms and put them around my waist before resuming the position I had earlier.
He seemed reluctant at first, but he ended up giving in.
You and I
We're like fireworks exploding in the sky
With you, I'm alive
Like at the pieces of my heart they finally collide
So stop time right here in the moonlight
'cause I don't ever want to close my eyesI closed my eyes and rested my head on Sasuke' s shoulder. I felt peaceful with him by my side.
I felt one of his hand leave my side and second later I felt fingers playing with my hair. I was so relaxed I could almost sleep like this.
I pulled my head away for a second to glance at the clock. It was 00:04. We were technically the 23d of July. I looked up at Sasuke with a big smile.
-Happy birthday Sasu, I said softly.
He smiled and gave me a kiss on the forehead. He stopped our dancing and looked me intently in my eyes.
-Thank you. He gave me another kiss on the forehead. You should go to sleep.
I frowned. I wanted to stay with him. I grabbed onto him, hugging him tightly.
-Nooo, I slurred groaning.
He chuckled lightly.
-Come on, he said pecking my cheek this time. You'll regret it in the morning if you don't sleep right now.
-I want you to stay with me, I mumbled.
He stopped chuckling and his face got serious.
-You know I can't stay right now. I can promise you that one day, I'll stay for as long as you'll have me, okay? He said.
I didn't know how to respond to that so I said the first thing that came to my mind, blushing red afterwards.
-Kiss me.
