Slight smut ahead, as always.
-Cha-chan

We arrived back home in early morning. The sun had just begun to rise as Chief Toad left us a couple feet away from the entrance of the village.

I grabbed Sasuke who had been resting against me, and lifted him up with all my might. I was running low on chakra, but we were finally here.

I dragged Sasuke all the way to see the Hokage, knowing she'd be able to fix him up in the meantime. I jumped the steps to her office and I knocked loudly on the door.

When the door opened, Jiraya, Kakashi and Grandma Tsunade were both looking at us. They were surprised to see us back so soon, but they had a lot of questions after seeing the state Sasuke was in. So, while Tsunade was healing him, I started to tell them what had happened.

-We were ambushed and Sasuke got hurt pretty bad.

-Don't you worry, he'll be just fine in a couple of minutes. Tsunade reassured me.

-That's not the problem. Orochimaru plans on attacking the village. He'll be here in two days give or take with an army of ninja. We have to prepare for battle!

Tsunade, Jiraya and Kakashi all shared a look.

-What is it? I asked.

-We had heard that Orochimaru was planning something big. We think he's coming here for Sasuke. Tsunade explained.

-I won't let that snake take him.

-We'll fight with everything we have.

I waited a couple of minutes for Sasuke to be okay. He had been able to listen a little to the conversation I was having. They all tried to cheer me up, but it wasn't working. I knew we couldn't beat Orochimaru. We just weren't strong enough. Then again, maybe with 2 sannin against one, we stood a chance.

Sasuke was all healed and capable of getting up after a while. He stood up without a word, took my hand and gently pulled me out of the office. He dragged me across town, not caring how many people recognized him. We walked all the way to the Uchiha compound. He brought me all the way to his mansion, back to his own room, only then did he stop.

-Sasuke, what's wrong? I asked.

-I asked you to come live with me not knowing if either of us will make it out alive. Tonight might be the only chance we have to spend a night here together.

Tears were brought to my eyes at the idea of losing him.

-Don't cry, he said hugging me. Tonight is not the time for crying. Tonight is the night to say goodbye. Just in case.

He kissed me gently. I felt tears against my cheeks as he was crying too. He hugged me tighter as we kissed. I felt the salt of our tears against my lips, but I ignored it. I loved him so much, and he might be taken away from me.

Sasuke gently set me down on the bed, and I let him guide me. We stopped crying as he slowly took my shirt off, then his. He was incredibly patient and calm as he held me like it might be the last time ever.

He took off our pants and briefs. Everything felt so loving and passionate as he inserted his fingers inside of me. I was more than happy to welcome him. This time, I didn't have the need for more. I wanted to remember this exact moment with him for the rest of my life. I felt like the walls of ice I had built around me melted away in an ocean of warmth at his touch. I seemed to be in a trance, in another universe.

He retracted his fingers and slowly pushed himself in as he whispered sweet nothing's into my ear.

-I love you, he whispered. I love you so much. It's gonna be okay.

I felt found for the first time in my life. I felt needed and loved as he pushed in and pulled out of me. The rhythm was calm and soothing over my body, as both our hearts echoes a sad melody of goodbyes. The thought of losing him ever present in my mind, making me feel like I didn't appreciate life with him enough. In that instant it felt like maybe, just maybe, soulmates might exist.

Sasuke, I don't want to live a life without you.
