Chapter 13 - Trouble

We walked down the cliffside to get to the port. There were villagers walking around us in a frenzy. Sasuke took my hand and lead us closer to the main building and an old man saw us approach.

-What are you lovebirds looking for? He asked us kindly.

I blushed red while sasuke just smiled at him. He tightened his grip on my wrist and looked around for good measure.

-We'd like a boat to go to the Land of the Mist.

-Well, you're lucky. There's one leaving in 5 minutes!

We paid for the trip and hurriedly left to catch the boat before it left us behind. We got on the boat and it sailed moments later.

We were enjoying the trip, the cold air against my face as Sasuke kept me close to him just in case something happened. We stayed near the front of the boat, far away from anyone else.

I was particularly aware of the crew. They looked like they were watching us a bit too much. It was maybe because of how close Sasuke kept me, but I didn't have a good feeling about this.

The sea was calm, it had been an hour that we were sailing. We could see the land getting closer and closer to us. The crew started to get shifty the closer we got to the land. I pulled on Sasuke's sleeve and he just nodded. He had noticed too. He activated his sharingan for a little bit, closely watching the crew. He pulled me closer to him to kiss my cheek.

-The second we are close enough, we run. He whispered in my ear.

I nodded softly. He kept me close to him with an arm around my shoulder. I was getting nervous as we approached the shore. The people of the Land of the Mist were warry of anyone with a kekkei genkai. They literally treat them like demons. I just hoped we wouldn't get discovered. Sasuke jsut had to keep himself from using the sharingan in front of people.

Once we got close enough to the port, Sasuke pulled me to the side and threw me in the water. I barely had enough time to register what was going on. I landed on my feet, Sasuke landing right beside me. He grabbed my arm and we ran on top of the sea as fast as possible. We caused some disturbance on the surface of the water with our feet as we ran for our lives.

Some of the crew ran after us, proving they were ninja. We were able to run all the way to a forest. I went left as Sasuke went right. I ran and jumped around for a couple of minutes, trying to shake them off. When I sensed him right behind me, I climbed to the top of the tree as fast as possible. I sensed the tree shake under the ninja's steps. I heard the russling of leaves as he passed by, still heading straight before him.

After a few minutes of making sure I wasn't followed anymore, I returned to my initial point and went the same way Sasuke had gone. I must've walked for a couple of minutes before suddenly feeling a presence behind me. As was about to turn around kicking the intruder, he bent down and kissed my neck. I turned around shocked.

-Sasuke! Don't scare me like that! I whispered-yelled.

Sasuke got close to me and started to pull at my arms and face, inspecting me.

-Are you hurt anywhere? He asked me worried.

-No, I'm fine, and you?

-I'm okay, he said with a reassuring smile.

-Did you lose them? I asked.

-Yes, a couple of minutes ago. We should be good, but stay on your guard.

I nodded. He took my hand and dragged me with him in the direction of the main city.  We were being very careful to not be seen. I warned Sasuke of using his sharingan in the presence of other people.

We were able to reach town, but as soon as we did, we saw some of the crew from earlier sneaking into the forest. We looked at each other and both nodded. We followed the group to a secluded area out of town. We were in a clearing when they all turned around.

-We know you're there, they said loudly. Give yourselves up or we'll have to take you down. You are surrounded.

I turned to Sasuke scared. He activated his sharingan again, scanning the area. He turned to me and nodded. We were in deep shit.

It's so short, I'm sorry. I tried getting it longer, but it barely worked. I'm planning maybe 5 other chapters and then the story's done!
