All Eyes On Us

By the time lunch rolls around I've a pretty uneventful few hours, as I get to the cafeteria doors I see Keira and Odin waiting for me, we do this every time, if two of us are together we make sure we wait for the other.

Keira hugs me and Odin nods his head in my direction, we link arms and head to the food line. We all get our lunch, Ham salad sandwich and a coke, the same thing for us all as its the least questionable thing we have here, after the chicken incident, we agreed to never have anything different, but it is a funny story, so Odin one day decided that the chicken looked good so he decided to steer from our well known path and have it for lunch, before our lunch break was over he was already in the toilets bringing it all back up and out, if you get my drift, his mum had to pick him up that day. He wasn't in school for about three days. Well, it wasn't really funny for him as it made him really ill but now we have a good laugh about it, more to the fact it was making a reappearance from both ends.

We got our food and headed towards our usual table, we like to stay away from the crowd and sit just on the outskirts of the cafeteria, that way we also avoid running into the trio.

We all sat down and starting picking through our sandwiches, another ritual of ours, to make sure we aren't eating any wilted salad or mouldy bread. Yeah thats also happened, I don't know how schools get away with it to be honest.

As I finished looking through my sandwich I opened my coke, take a sip and set it down, just about ready to start eating, I start to hear gasps erupting throughout the cafeteria. We snap out heads up to see Knox, Austin and Paxton heading right for us. No, this is bad. This gives us more attention and we will definitely be noticed by the trio now. I try to keep my anxiety at bay.

Keira and Odin both turn to me, wide eyed and questioning gazes. "I dont know" I whispered.

Knox finally reaches the table "Hey, guys mind if we sit with you today?"

We all just nod our responses, and we dont really know what to say, I mean what would you do if the hottest guys in your school, town even, wanted to sit with you.

I glance around to find everyone staring at us, not bothering to show that they arent when I look at them. Im really hoping that the trio havent arrived yet, but my eyes snap towards the cafeteria doors as they slam. Yes they have arrived and yes they know whats happening. God Im going to get more shit from them for this and I didnt even do anything.

Tiffanys eyes follow all the students gazes, she probably only noticed because she isnt the centre of attention, and locks eyes with me, she may be at the other side of the room, but I can clearly see the emotions flickering on her face, surprise and shock then just outright anger. Her left eye has started twitching. Brittany and Madison are trying to talk to her from either side, but it doesnt look like shes listening. Then to make everything ten times worse she starts to strut over to our table, well she cant storm over here, that would ruin the whole slutty look shes sporting. Oh no brain, dont even go there, you just make everything worse.

"Hey, Scar, are you okay? Scar?" my head snaps to Knox to realise hes been trying to speak to me. He then looks towards Tiffany and sees why I wasnt listening. A scowl etches onto his face. I look over towards Keira to see shes sitting quite close to Austin, and then at Odin, whos sitting quite close to Paxton, but you wouldnt think anything of it, unless you know whats going on.

"Told you, Knox, more shit than its worth" Austin mumbles. His eyes widen when he realises I overheard. I narrow my eyes and he just shakes his head and lowers it. I feel a hand on my thigh under the table "Dont worry, Scar, everything will be fine" gently squeezing. I look up to meet his eyes, to realise he looks genuinely concerned as to how Im feeling. I lower my head as I can hear the trios heels clicking closer, by now the whole cafeteria is silent, waiting for the scene to unfold. Yeah me-too guys, me too.
