Blair didn't necessarily agree on going with the young lad, but she couldn't say no. He wanted to help her plus, she longed for a bed to sleep in and real food to eat. She clung to him as they rode Angus towards his home. It was her first time riding a horse. Her father didn't get an chance to teach her.

"Don't be shy or scared, Blair." Meridus spoke as he kept ahold of the reigns. "Mum and dad are kind. And my little brothers are wee devils." He chuckled softly, remembering the trouble they caused.

Nodding, the girl glanced around the scenery. "Where exactly do ye live?" She asked curiously. She could tell they were heading towards the village.

She could tell he was hesitating on answering her. "Uh-" He paused for a moment. "The castle." It took him a moment to speak.

Blair's eyes widened as she swallowed thickly. She had nothing against the royal family, but she was slightly terrified of what could happen. Maybe Mor'du would find her and kill every single one of them. And then her.

"Oh." She said with a low chuckle. "Are you a chief or cleaner?" The question seemed stupid but she had to ask.

Meridus chuckled. "No. I'm the prince. Prince Meridus." He said proudly, even though sometimes he wished he was a normal boy.

It was not long when they finally arrived at the castle. Meridus could tell the girl was nervous. Maybe she's never been around royalty before? "Follow me." He told her gently as they headed inside. "My mother, the queen, her name is Elinor. My father, the king, is Fergus." He told her. "And don't mind my father. He's a little crazy in the head." He teased with a small laugh.

Blair couldn't help but chuckle at that. She glanced around, aweing at the decoration. She's truly never been to a castle before, or one that she remembered. She followed Meridus as they made their way to the throne room.

The young lad opened the big wooden doors, letting the girl walk through first. "Mother. Father." He greeted the pair whom sat at their thrones.

"Meridus! Your back." King Fergus smiled at his son. His eyebrow cocked at the sight of the girl. "And whom did ye bring back with ye?"

Queen Elinor glanced at the girl, she could tell she was an outsider of their kingdom. Not just by her appearance but how nervous the girl was.

"This is Blair." Meridus introduced her. "We meet out in the forest. She's been living in a cave since she was wee little." He told them, a frown on his face. He did feel sorry for the young girl.

Elinor nodded, frowning at that. "What happened to ye parents laddie?" She asked curiously.

Blair hesitated, gulping as her gaze fell to the floor. "Mor'du." She said, catching Fergus' attention. "He killed me parents when I was small. I managed to escape and have been living in the forest ever since."

Fergus and Elinor frowned at that. "That devil bear took me leg." The king said, showing her his wooden leg. "Don't worry laddie. We have a spare room for ye to stay in for as long as ye like."

Blair smiled at them, thankful. "Oh thank you. I do appreciate it."

After dinner, Meridus showed her to her room. "Alright, this is where ye be staying." He said softly as he opened the wooden door. "The maids have it cleaned everyday."

Blair nodded as she stepped inside, awing at the furniture. She turned to him with a soft sweet smile. "Again, thank you Meridus." She said. "I was afraid I'd stay in those woods for the rest of me life." She chuckled sadly, tucking her hair behind her ear.

Meridus smiled back at her, his heart fluttering. The pounding in his chest was something he's never felt before. "Just get some rest." He spoke gently as he closed the door behind him. He rested his back against it, taking a deep breath he didn't know he was holding before heading to his room.

Blair glanced around the room once more. She noticed a blue nightgown with soft fabric laying on the bed. She gently picked it up. "It's beautiful." She mumbled to herself before removing her clothing. She slipped the nightgown on before climbing into bed. It was the first time she slept in a bed since she was wee little.

Giggling to herself, she snuggled under the covers before drifting off to a deep slumber.
