Tomorrow was my graduation and I was super excited, more than I've been for anything in a long time. There's so much shit in my life that could have stopped this and I pushed through so I decided to splurge on something nice since a high school graduation is once in a lifetime.
I went to the mall and got a new dress to wear a long with some heels, I also did my hair and nails.
I wasn't sure if my mom would come and I couldn't act like I didn't care if she missed it, although I was used to her disappointing me I hoped she wouldn't miss something as big as this.
Right now she was at work. She had a new job since she showed up drunk to her old one last week and got fired. I was always curious about how easy it was for her to get a job, it wasn't like she hid the fact she was unstable.
I was currently getting ready to hang out with Ki at Trey's house. I was hesitant to go back there knowing Sosa seemed to dislike me and that was her boyfriend but I wasn't there for him anyways.

"You don't like my aesthetic... you gon' like it today!" Ki lip-synced as she made a tiktok. She wanted to break out into content creation and already had over one thousand followers.
"You wanna do one with me?" She asked lowering her phone and eyeing me.
"I look a mess right now." I said laughing, it was an obvious excuse but I didn't have much use for social media.
"You need to stop hiding yourself, you would do so good if you just made a page." She egged.
"Maybe." I said shortly hoping she would drop it.
We've been at Trey's house for a good while now and so far it was chill. Ki and I ordered some wings so we were eating those now. It would put a strain on my savings for the week since I had already spent money on my graduation preparations but I didn't want her paying for the whole thing herself.
"Bro, lemon pepper is so good." I said taking a bite of the wings. They were my mom's favorite as well and her go to if she had the presence of mind to buy food for the both of us.
"For real, and with ranch... chef's kiss." She agreed.
I side eyed her "Uh, I don't know about all that now. Ranch does not belong on everything." I spoke frowning.
She fake gasped and held her hand to her chest. "Girl- imma pray for you."
I laughed then looked up hearing footsteps on the stairs.
