12:44 pm"These niggas think they slick, but we ten steps ahead." Von laughed.
Him, Durk, Booka and Muwop were currently at the trap with the other guys.
Jayvo had called them saying he had something important they needed to see.
After asking around he finally found a guy that could open the laptop, giving him access to the messages.
Laugher filled the smokey room as they read through the messages.
"On David, them muhfuckas think they doin sum." Durk said reading Rashad's message to Kris detailing his plan to shoot Layla.
The dumbasses discussed all their plans over text, and now Von and his gang were ten steps ahead.
"We gotta slide on those niggas TONIGHT." Muwop stressed. He never liked Kris, and it annoyed him seeing how she was plotting on his brother and also Layla who he had grown close to.
"On foenem." Booka agreed.
"Here's what we finna do..."
Sixteen.
That's how many missed calls Ki left on Layla's phone.
And maybe Layla was being dramatic, but that also could have been the number of bullets shot at her if Von's guy hadn't seen those messages.
She was beyond pissed, at Ki, at Kris, at everybody.
Peace... the one thing she wanted, eluded her the most.
She knew there was something off about 'MB', if that was even his real name.
It made her sick seeing how heartless people could be, willing to kill her over a female he clearly knew nothing about.
She had thrown up just three times that morning from the messages alone, not to count the actual morning sickness.
She muted Ki's contact deciding not to turn her phone off, with everything happening she needed to have it on at all times.
Von had already called her and so had India, both concerned for her safety.
Von hinted at a plan but he didn't say much and Layla preferred it that way.
Currently she was waiting for India to come get her, since Von had dropped her off she left her car at their house. She hadn't planned on leaving her apartment until she was going to see her mom and she would have just taken an uber to pick her car up.
'I'm outside'
She loved the message before grabbing her stuff and heading downstairs.
"Hey boo." India said as she got in. The car smelled like ocean scented air freshener, AC and India's perfume.
