📍 Yolk
"This is sooo good." I said taking a bite of the omelet I ordered. My mom took me to eat at Yolk I always heard about it but I've never been.
I got an omelet, blueberry crepes and some orange juice while my mom got chicken and waffles with a smoothie.
So far she was acting cool but this morning she was doin too much tryna guilt trip me cause she knew I was gonna look for a place soon.
"This place is real nice, imma have to come here more often." She said. "On another note there is something we need to talk about though."
"Mama can we not do this right now I'm just trying to enjoy this time."
"Uh uh, you tried to change the subject this morning but you grown now grown folks don't run from they problems." -Keisha, someone who been running from her problems since she was born, lmao.
"We having a good time why you wanna argue?"
"It's not arguing baby, and of course we are you know imma come good for yo 18th but this is a mother being concerned about her child. You going off on your own is not easy like you think who gon be there to support and guide you?"
I blinked at her. Now I wasn't tryna get smacked around all these people but yall see what I'm saying, since her guilt trip ain't work she tryna play the concerned parent like I aint been alone, supporting and guiding myself my whole life.
"I know how to handle myself and you know that, I'm not gonna play dumb I know what you're doing and it's not gon work. I'm moving out and thats it." I said shrugging. "Now can we please just have a good time."
She rolled her eyes and huffed before getting back to eating her food.

We finished our food and were at the mall walking around. She told me I could get whatever I wanted but it couldn't go over $200.
I decided to get some new t shirts, shorts, dresses and underwear since those were stuff I wore the most and needed new ones.
"Let's go in here." I said walking into forever 21. I grabbed a basket and started looking for stuff.
"Hello." I heard my mom say as her phone rang. "Yea im at the mall with this lil girl, I aint a bad mama all the time." She said laughing. "I'a call you back when we done."
