📍Von's HouseLayla yawned tiredly as she stretched in the bed looking at the small bundle asleep next to her.
Dayvon was already such a good baby, he had only woken up two times throughout the night.
Von was already up and banging around downstairs, she could smell him cooking something and her stomach grumbled hungrily.
"Mommy gotta go eat." She whispered softly kissing his cheek.
She picked him up carefully and placed him in the bassinet next to the bed before setting up the monitors so she could see and hear him.
After making sure everything was good she went into the bathroom to do her hygiene.
She looked a mess but she wasn't being too hard on herself since she just had a baby.
She brushed her teeth and cleansed her face before changing into fresh clothes and heading downstairs.
Von was standing over the stove frying what smelled like bacon, there was a stack of waffles and eggs already on the counter.
"You cooked." Layla smiled patting his back making him jump.
"Damn- you can't sneak up on a nigga like that ma. And whatchu doin outta bed imma bring this to you."
"Aww you giving me breakfast in bed." She teased secretly grateful for it.
Although the baby had mostly slept through the night she was still understandably very tired.
"Yes so take yo ass back upstairs." He shooed her.
She stole a piece of fruit off the platter he made and went back upstairs to lay down.
She decided to get on her phone because she had a lot of messages to respond to. Everyone wanted to come and see the baby but she wasn't sure she wanted anyone around him yet.
The only person she felt comfortable having over was Von's mom so she messaged her and let her know she could come by when she was free.
She also spoke to her own mom, it was bittersweet as she had missed the birth but Layla didn't want them to dwell on it.
She was doing much better and Layla started to be hopeful things would change between them.
The door opened and Von walked in carrying two plates with bacon, waffles, eggs, and fruit along with two glasses of juice.
"Thank you so much Von, it looks good." Layla said as she sat up to eat.
"You'on gotta thank me, this the least." He said settling the tray on the bed so they could eat.
"You a whole chef." Layla groaned as she ate greedily. She felt like she hadn't eaten in days.
"You know I had to bring out my best fah you." He spoke staring at her intently causing her to blush.
She knew Von was trying very hard to get her back but she was honestly overwhelmed.
She felt like she had to focus on herself and the baby before they could move forward.
"What are you doing today?" She asked popping a grape into her mouth.
