"What the hell was that?" Josh turned his head away from me and looked at the girl holding a cell phone.

"Really, Josh?" The girl smirked, "I thought you were done for sure now."

"Delete the damn picture, Ana." Josh's face flushed.

"What will Gaby think of this, again, after she's already forgiven you, not one or two, but three times?" The girl's grin grew bigger with every word she'd spit out. Her short brown hair was tied up and her bangs fell right on her forehead, above her cold, dark brown eyes.

I stood up straight, right behind Josh, "What is she talking about?"

She looked at me now. "So you're the slut he's been banging, this time?" She looked back at Josh. "I have to say, Josh, she's the ugliest one yet. I know you can do better then that."

Josh walked over to her, "Shut the hell up, delete that picture, and leave."

"You'd love that, wouldn't you?" She sneered, "Too bad it's not that simple." She spoke in a fake innocent tone, "I'm sorry, but I can't hide this big secret from Gaby, not after all you've done to her. She'll be devastated, but I'm her best friend and I absolutely have to tell her." She laughed as she walked back to her car.

"Wait. You're going to show that to Gaby?" I asked her holding out my hand as if I had some magical force to stop her. "Of course, what do you think? Not to bright, this one you picked up, is she Josh? It's a good thing you'll be throwing her away soon, just like the others."

Josh's face was red, "Shut up. Shut up. Shut up!" He grabbed her phone and threw it on the ground, the screen smashing into tiny pieces and scattering everywhere. "Get out of here." He stared at her as if he were about to the rip the soul out of her body.

His fists were balled and tightly clenched. Ana got inside her car and fidgeted with her keys, scared, until she finally got the car started and drove off.

It was about 7:30 now and there was a gorgeous orange-purple sunset just ahead of us.

Josh was taking me back home now and I dared to talk to him, "What did she mean when she said you'd 'throw me away just like the others'?

"Nothing, don't worry about that." He said bleakly.

"Have you really cheated on Gaby three times?" I asked, hoping that it wasn't true.

"Yes, I have." He pulled over on the side of my house, "Oh look, you're home. This was a nice chat, I'll see you tomorrow." He said sarcastically.

"Thanks for the ride, Josh." I said under my breath and looked over at him. He looked tired but slipped a smile on his face and I couldn't help but send a grin back. We said our goodbyes and he drove off into the sunset. By himself.

I took out my keys and fiddled with the lock before I entered. When I got in, the lights were off. I flipped the switch and the lights came on. I looked around and saw beer bottles strewn about, near the couch.

When I looked at the couch, it had stains all over it, and it smelled horrendous. Like alcohol mixed with cigarets. No sense in dealing with this right now. I have to get some water.

There was a small passage way into to the kitchen and as I entered there was something I very much did not want to see.

Mom was with another man, who certainly was not Dad, and was having a full blown make-out session with him right against the fridge. Mom was holding a cigarette in her left hand and with her right she was messing up the other man's hair.

"Mom!" I yelled, then quickly covered my mouth with my hand and ran up to my room. I tripped on the way up there and I just balled myself up on one of the stairs and started crying.

Why can't my life just be normal?
