Mom's cheating on Dad. This is it. They're going to get a divorce. As I sit on the stairs, contemplating the situation in my head, a sudden realization spawned. Maybe this isn't the first time. Maybe this is the first time I, or anyone, has actually caught her. I started getting angry now.

Why would she do this? All that Dad's been to her was nice, and she goes off bitching about it? What a mom, huh? I scoffed to myself. I'd better go check on Sam, though she's probably sleeping now. I just wanna make sure she hasn't seen anything downstairs.

I opened her door, just a crack, and saw she was sleeping soundly under her dark blue, soft blanket. I smiled to myself, knowing there was still an innocent person left in this house.

I left the door open a bit just in case I wanted to check on her again. I tiptoed back into my room and dropped my backpack on the floor and fell on top of my bed. I let out a huge sigh, while looking up at the ceiling.

I'm in a field full of flowers, filled with plenty of bright colors. Yellow, green, blue, and pink. Mom and Dad are holding hands as Mom kisses him on the cheek, looking like the best married couple in the world. Samantha is by a river playing with some animals nearby. Maddie and Jason are sitting on a red and white plaid picnic blanket talking to each other and eating strawberries. Josh walks up to me and grabs me by the waist and kisses me. Everything seems perfect for a moment.

Then, everything goes dark. All around, everything's black and red. Mom and Dad are screaming at each other. Maddie and Jason fade away, waving goodbye to me. Suddenly, all the flowers turn ablaze. Fire and smoke fill the air. The animals next to Samantha turn into horrible, demon-like creatures, and push her into the river where she drowns. I stand, unable to move at all. A black figure stands in front of me , Josh at my side. The figure wears black clothing, in resemblance to a grim reaper, and pulls out a gun. First, they shoot Josh.

Next, they shoot me.

I woke up from my nightmare, sweating and tears rolling down my face. I sat in my bed, wanting to scream until my lungs gave out. I held my hand against my chest, trying to even my breaths. Inhale. Exhale. Inhale. Exhale.

It was about two in the morning and I couldn't fall asleep again. I decided to go to the bathroom to try and wake myself up.

There was my room on one side, then, the bathroom in the middle, and Sam's room on the other side. So basically, me and Sam had to share a bathroom but that was fine because she's a very organized and clean person. At least she wasn't a five year old boy that left toothpaste on the counter and the toilet seat up.

My vision was still blurry so I didn't realize the light was on in the bathroom until I walked in.

Sam was in there, on the floor. In one hand she held a razor, and the other was cut open with ruby flowing out of it. The sink was filled with blood. She was sitting against the bathtub, crying.

She looked up and saw the shock come on my face and threw the razor at me, but missed, "Get out! Leave me alone! I'm fine..."

My heart started hurting. I came in, closed the door, and sat next to her. I hugged her as tight as I could and caressed her soft black hair. "Oh, Sam, you're not fine."
