After about half-an-hour of trying to talk to Sam about why she was...doing what she was doing, I stopped.

For now.

I told her to go to her room and wait up for me there, while I cleaned up the bathroom.

I assumed Mom was done whoring around for tonight, and went to bed. Hopefully alone.

After I finished cleaning up, I went to Sam's room. I saw her sitting on her bed with her back against the wall, just staring at the ceiling.

"Um, Sam, are you sure you don't want to talk about it?" I asked her, basically pleading her to tell me.

"I'm sure, Mika. You can leave now." She looked a bit mad.

"Oh, okay. You know I'm not going to give up just like that." I said feeling tired, but not nearly enough to fall asleep.

I kissed her forehead and made sure she went to bed, before I closed the door and headed into my room.

What a night.

I woke up - well actually not 'woke up' because I couldn't sleep at all last night - to my Sleeping With Sirens alarm on my phone.

Sure most might call me emo because of what I listen to, but I just like lyrics that actually have meaning. I'd rather not listen to a song that's just about ass or sex.

Anyway, it's Wednesday. Yay, it's the middle of the week. I thought to myself and groaned.

I came downstairs and saw Mom with a glass of water and an ice pack on her head.

"Had fun last night?" I asked her and rolled my eyes as I went over to get something from the fridge.

"Shut the hell up. Can't you see I have a headache?" She growled at me.

I reached over and got a yogurt, "Actually, Mom, it's called a hangover and that's your own fault." I said with a matter-of-fact tone in my voice.

Mom got up and started raising her voice at me "Don't you dare talk to me that way, young lady. I am your mother, and you will respect me."

I slammed the fridge door, I'm in a bad mood now. How could she be mad at me? If anything, I should be, and am, mad at her.

It felt like a spark lit up inside of me, like a bomb ticking right before it exploded. Respect? I wanted to laugh.

"You want respect? After last night? You're kidding right?" I started asking her obviously and at she looked confused.

Then, she knew what I was talking about. She knew that that subject wasn't up for debate.

So, all she said was "Go to school, brat."

I made an obvious fake smile and replied, "Anything to get away from you," I started walking away, "cheater." I say just loud enough so she can hear me as I walk out of the house.
