Hours later Kayla was finished getting ready and made her way down stairs to see Stefan and Zach in a heated staring match.

"What's up with everyone?" Kayla stood at the base of the stairs with her hands on her hips

"What do you mean?" Zach looked to Kayla, stepping away from Stefan as the teen girl sighed and pursed her lips "Never mind"

Kayla made her way to the living room and sitting on the couch as she pulled out her phone to ask Caroline when she'd be getting to the town square

Zach rubbed the back of his neck as he approached the chair and sat beside her
"Hey..."

Zach paused waiting for Kayla to make eye contact with him
"I'm gonna go change and we can go to the comet watch together, maybe get a bite to eat at the grill? Just the two of us"

Kayla rose an eyebrow before rolling her eyes and nodding with a smile "Sure"

Zach pressed a kiss to his daughters forehead before getting up and rushing up stairs to get changed. Kayla looked to Stefan who hadn't moved from his position. Feeling Kayla's gaze, the older Salvatore turned to meet his cousins eye.

"What?"
"You smell like outside"

Stefan brought his hand to his face to stifle his laugh "My bad mom. I'll go hop in the shower"

Kayla went back to texting on her phone when Stefan paused beside her
"What?"
"I just realized I didn't give you a hug today"
"You've never given me a hug...Don't start now, not till after you've taken a shower at least"

Stefan stepped closer to Kayla but stopped and brought his hands up to block the pillow she threw at him
"Keep playing with me Stefan, see what happen. Go take a shower"

Stefan laughed as he backed away and made his way to the stairs "Okay okay, i'm on my way upstairs"
"Mmhmm"

Once Zach, Stefan and Kayla arrived to the Town Square, Stefan waved bye to Kayla and Zach before walking off

Once Zach, Stefan and Kayla arrived to the Town Square, Stefan waved bye to Kayla and Zach before walking off

"He looking for Elena huh?"
"I thought he was celibate for the first 2 months" Kayla shrugged as Zach laughed and wrapped his arm around her as they walked towards the table in search of candles

"How's school been?" Zach questioned
"As okay as it can be. I'm just ready to graduate"

Kayla took two candles and a pamphlet, thanking the lady before handing the pamphlet and one candle to Zach.
Taking the paper, Zach asked "You still looking towards and HBCU or are you trying to go to Whitmore College?"

The girl frowned her face at the name of the later institution "Whitmore is definitely not on the bucket list and I honestly don't wanna go to college. Plus school is crazy expensive"

Zach nodded understandingly as the two approached the middle of the center and held out his candle for the person to light it. Then Zach turnt towards Kayla and held the candle to her before he asked "You don't have to worry about finances, your mom and I already took care of that"

"I know and im really thankful for you both but at the moment...Im only feeling passionately about my art, not school"
"And that's okay. You will always have my support. Both mine and your mothers. Wether it's as an artist in New Orleans like your mom was or a Princess Gymnast with a bow and arrow"

Kayla grinned "You remember that?"
"What!? Are you kidding? Do i remember little baby Kayla wanting to be a princess gymnast who shoots arrows? Uh yea" Zach laughed causing Kayla to snort and cover her face

"Oh my gosh please stop talking"
"Actually I think you should scrap the art and go back to the second thing"
"You aren't funny"
"Hey! Your mom loved my humor. Said "I was the funniest guy in the world""
"She lied"

Zach's eyes widened in playful shock before he pushed Kayla's head to the side causing her to stumble as she laughed
"Hardy har har"

After watching the comet, everyone started to make their way either home or to the grill. Inside at a booth, Kayla and Zach sat eating and talking.

"I think you should go abroad" Zach shrugged
"You do?" Kayla tilted her head as she ate her chicken tender

Nodding Zach responded "Yea! For the most part you've taken a bunch of classes that would be transferable for college so if you wanted to go to school when you came back, you wouldn't be too far behind your friends"

Kayla looked down in thought as she stirred a fry in her honey mustard sauce

Zach smiled tapping the table to get Kayla's attention "I meant what I said about you not having to go to school if you don't want to"
"I know. I do. Im just not 100% sure about what I wanna do in the long run" Kayla shrugged

"We'll then let's look at the short term goals. What do you want to do at this very moment?" Zach questioned giving his daughter his attention

Kayla thought before answering "I wanna create a painting for Ms. Alexis' friends exhibit"
"There we go- What supplies do you need? We can order them or go to the art store." Zach hit the table in excitement

Kayla grinned at Zach "Thank you"
"You don't have to thank me kid, I pay for all of your special trades. Clothes, art, hair appointments-" Zach listed before he was interrupted

"No I mean thank you for supporting me"
Zach grinned at the girl "You're my favorite daughter, who would I be to not support you!"
"I'm your only daughter"
"Even more reason that you be the favorite"
