Walking up to the main desk, Kayla greets the nurse
"Hey, I was told Zach Salvatore was moved into a room on this floor. I'm his daughter"

The nurse smiles and points her to the room a few steps away from the desk

The teen smiles "Thanks"

Upon entering the room she notice the relaxed expression on her sleeping father. Kayla sighs and sits in the chair beside his bed and begins to tell him about her day

"Man have you missed some things. First Kelly Beach, made yet another fashion no no. Not the same one as the first day of school of course. More carpet than drapes. Don't even get me started on the substitue for history. He really tried to make us participate in a discussion about the booming business of the south back in the early 1800's"

Kayla pulls her legs into a criss cross as she leans in the chair, resting her head on her hand, pausing her rant as a doctor came in

"Good afternoon, you must be Miss Salvatore. I'm Dr. White, your father's neurosurgeon"

"Hi, I guess you got some information to share with me?"
"I certainly do. While not much has changed, I can say that his wound is healing nicely"

The doctor handed Kayla some papers stapled together, to which the girl just frowned and looked back at the doctor
"What's this?"
"Essentially, it's an updated diagnostic, potential complications"

The doctor crossed his arms "In aware you are listed as next of kin but do you have any adults relatives that could possibly come in and perhaps finish up some paperwork regarding...important decisions"

Kayla stood up "Important decisions like what?"
"I really would prefer-"
"What decisions?"
"In the event that, you want to give up or funding becomes an issue or-"
"Respectfully, don't ever ask me if I wanna give up on my Dad"

Dr. Smiths eyes widened slightly "I didn't mean to insinuate that you would, it's just...Really is there no familiar guardian you can bring in? Perhaps Zach's oldest nephew"
"You said adult familiar guardian"

Kayla shrugs and looks at Zach while the doctor shakes his head
"How about the next time you come by, you bring him. I don't plane to exclude you from the conversations, I just don't think there are certain decisions you should be forced to make"

"Sure" Kayla gives a half smile and the doctor excuses himself from the room

Kayla lets out a loud sigh "And another thing, how you gone let two bat bandits into our home and not tell me. Top 5 worse things you've ever not told me seriously-"

Kayla reached for her phone at the sound of her ringtone
"Yeah?"

"What a way to greet your God Father"

At the sound of the man's voice Kayla's eyes lit up
"OMG!"
"How's it going kid?"

Kayla stepped towards the window
"Mystic Falls is hell"
"Not exactly what I was expecting. What's happening?"

"Zach's in a coma"
"What?! Are you okay? I'm coming down up there-"
"Listen i'm okay, my cousins are here watching over me"

The man over the phone scoffed "The hell does your cousins being there have to do with anything?"
"It means you don't have to waste a trip over because i'm okay"
