"Action potential begins at the axon hillock, which is the spot that connects the neuron's soma to the axon. Small amounts of positive charge...." The professor went on and on, talking about the brain and the way it transfers information. Asami was so bored. She already knew this material, and for some reason she still had to attend this class. She doodled a bunch of stuff in her notebook, and tried to pay attention.

Her professor went on, as she wondered how long she had until the last day of marcial school, when she finally gets her diploma.

"The electrical charges from synapses around the cell body and on the dendrites add up according to the cell's individual time and distance constants, and when they cross a certain line, an action potential will begin, sending an electrical signal through the neuron."

The material was interesting, and Asami wouldn't have minded being in class, if she didn't already know everything from reading ahead. She felt like there were so many more important things she could do with her time than listening to this lecture.

Her professor seemed to stop and wait for student's questions.

Asami took the chance to gather her things and quickly leave the classroom. It's a good thing she sat so close to the exit as to be able to leave without interrupting.

"Miss Sato? Leaving so soon?" The professor stopped her just as she was about to close the door behind her.

"Huh?" She turned around to face him. "Oh, yes, sorry..." she said. She didn't really have an excuse other than she already knew the material.

"Well if you feel like you're alright skipping my class right in front of me, let me ask you this. What happens when the electrical signal reaches the end of the neuron?"

This was next class's material. The professor was clearly trying to make her look stupid. Lucky for Asami, she was a complete nerd and already read ahead. "Well, the positive charge causes calcium ions to enter the cell, which cause vesicles with neurotransmitters release their contents into the intercellular space, to the synapse with the next cell."

The professor watched her for a few seconds, not knowing what to say.

"But, I'm afraid that's next week's material, so if you wanna ask me about the things I'm gonna miss by leaving early today, let me know." Asami said.

She turned and left the classroom feeling like the absolute queen she is.

As Asami walked down the street, she thought about what she would do when she got home. She had loads of free time now that she skipped the last two periods of classes. She could probably catch up on her studying for another course...

Her thoughts were interrupted when she heard a scream. "Help! HELP! Somebody help! Is there a doctor around here?!!"

She turned and quickly ran towards the voice. Sure, she wasn't a doctor yet, but she will do whatever she could to help.

A man was bleeding out on the street! He must've been hit by a car because he was laying in the middle of the road, next to a panicking woman who was holding his hand.

"What happened?!" Asami yelled as she reached the man. She checked his eyes and saw they were responding, he was breathing and was still conscious. That was a good sign.

"He was walking around explaining everything about his new invention, when he was suddenly hit by a car! The car kept driving! I didn't know what to do! Please help my Varrick!" The woman said.

"Zhu-li..." the man said in a weak voice. The woman next to him came closer, but he wasn't able to finish his sentence.

Asami knew she needed to stop the bleeding and check for any critical damage. "Call an ambulance!" She told the woman. Zhu-li grabbed her phone and dialed the number.
