Ikenna's pov
Mirabel and I were heading to the computer lab when Amanda stumbled into her and they had quite a clash. I actually thought world war 3 would happen right in front of me but surprisingly Amanda didn't fight back. I guess we could say she's matured to an extent, she's just mysterious in her own ways and I can't place a finger on it. Jennifer managed to stop the whole thing as she interrupted whatever Amanda wanted to say and they both left. I used the opportunity to pull Mirabel away."Dude"
"What?" She said while looking at me as if she's innocent meanwhile she's a witch inside, so full of darkness and evil. In this life, fear women.
"Don't tell me "what" and stop looking at me like that. You and I know that all of that wasn't necessary"
"But she bumped into me. I had to put her in her place"
"She bumped into you, yes but she said she was sorry. None of that was necessary. You're just being extra and I can't handle any of this right now. I already have a lot on my plate"
"I'm sorry. I didn't mean any of those things I said, I promise"
"I'm not the one you should be apologizing to. Tell it to her not me"
"I won't"
"I have said my own. Let's go"
I had made up my mind to apologize to Amanda after the class since Mirabel didn't want to.I tried apologizing to Amanda after class but for some crazy and twisted reason she seems to believe that I'm pretending to be nice to her. Who actually has the time and effort to pretend these days? Her matter has honestly tire me, maybe another day I'll try again but I'm done embarrassing myself for one day. Once school was over I headed home, I wasn't really in the mood to stay back in school because my focus was gone already and it would be a complete waste of time.
*At home*
Entering my room, I placed my bag on my bed as I took off my uniform and headed into the bathroom to have a shower. Finishing up, I dress up and went downstairs to have lunch because young man was hungry. I really don't know why Amanda calling me young man is just pissing me off. Can't she just give me a nickname or better still use Ikenna, I mean that's why we were given names right? Well, it is what it is after all. Finishing up with my food, I trailed upstairs and into my room, I was really tired and decided to take a nap before anything else.I woke up to a lot of noise coming from downstairs. I dragged my lazy and still half asleep ass downstairs to see what was going on. Walking into the living room, I come face to face with Daniel and his friends playing video games with music blasting loudly. The whole living room was a mess with cups lying here and there and other stuffs lying on the floors Daniel is my elder brother but sometimes I find it hard to believe myself because he's so irresponsible.
I rubbed the bridge of my nose as I was feeling a headache coming due to all the noise.I walked over to the boom box and turned it off which seemed to get their attention as they all turned to face me.
"Hey, who told you that you could turn that off?"
"You guys need to do whatever you're doing quitely, I'm trying to sleep here. By the way, do clean up all of this, mom and dad won't be happy if they come home to see the mess you've made of their living room"
"Don't tell me what to do, leave and turn that stuff back on while you're at it"
"Nah, I don't feel like doing that" I put my phone in my pocket and walked towards the entrance door, I was about taking my leave when he called me back.
"I didn't tell you to leave. Where do you think you're going to?"
"Away from all of this catastrophe. I'm not going to be a part of it and I don't feel like getting in trouble today so knock yourselves out but as for me, I'm out", with that I take my leave. I wasn't really sure of where I wanted to go to but a stroll would really ease me off. After what felt like the longest stroll I've ever taken in my life, I decided to pay my boys a visit. I placed a call to Chinedu to find out where he was and he was at Brian's house. I must be really lucky as I was just a turn away from Brian's house. On getting to his house, his cousin opened the gate for me.
"Hey Ade what's up?" We exchanged hugs. It's been quite long since I saw him and I'm happy to see him though. Ade is a very cool and chill guy, sometimes he makes me think he doesn't have any problem in this life. His life seems to be going really great.
"I'm good fam. It's been long since I saw you oo, you hardly visit these days"
"Sorry man, my bad. A lot of things has been going on at home and I've been occupied"
"It's cool. Good to see you, the boys are in the game room"
"Thanks, good to see you too", with that I headed to the game room.Entering the game room, I could see that the guys were really enjoying themselves. The table was filled with drinks, pizza and other snacks.
"What's popping guys"
"Ahh, see this boy oo. When last did Ikenna come to this place sef? When he called, I had convinced myself that he wouldn't show up"
"I'm sorry guys, you know how my dad is. I've been occupied with the whole family business thing, he wants me to take over his business when I'm 18 as Daniel is well, not responsible enough to handle it"
"That's crazy, you're still 16 nah. You have like two years till you turn 18, why the rush?"
"Well, he wants me to be familiar with everything before I reach the age so that once I'm 18 I'll be running it fully. I'm still trying to figure out how to combine it with school. It's really eating up my time and if care isn't taken, I might not have time to study again. That's one of the reasons I've been staying back at school but then.." I stopped for a second to make sure they were understanding where I'm coming from.
"Let me guess, Mirabel won't let you be?"
"Exactly, I'm really tired of that girl. Can't she see that I don't have the time or strength for anything love? Or she chose to close her eyes to it. Just because we talked about getting married when we were much younger, she has so desperately held on to those words. She should be grown enough to know that we were young and stupid then. Things have changed, those things doesn't matter anymore"
"Well, my guy, she won't enter your head to know what you're feeling so do us all a favour and tell her how you feel about the whole thing"
"I will once the timing is right", he hands me one of the console as we are about to start the game
"Guy, if you keep waiting for the right timing then you'll never tell her. You need to get her off your back and if you want it so bad you'll do it immediately"
"I've heard you, now can we play?"
"Sure", we played for a while and at the end of the game, I won. I went on to play with Chinedu."By the way, nice room you've got Brian. A lot has changed since the last time I was here."
"Thanks, I got dad to renovate the room since my cousin was visiting us frequently and I wanted everything to be nice and comfortable for us since we spend all our time here.", Brian is the only child of his parents and as that, the heir to his dad's business. Unlike my dad that's rushing me to learn bout his business, his dad is allowing him till he wants to join the business. They pamper him so much and provide everything he wants to fill the void of not having siblings to play with. Ade's family is based in Abuja but his school is in Lagos, he spends most of his weekends with Brian and their bond has grown so much.
"I'm glad he did. Now I'll be coming here more often by God's grace"
"Which reminds me. Guy, what stunt exactly were you trying to pull with Jennifer? And since when?"
"Guy, don't reason it. If you look passed her nerdy behaviour, Jennifer is actually fine oo. One of the hottest girls in our class if I must say and you know my ratings are top notch. Let me shoot my shot and see if the ball will enter"
"Hmm, I didn't picture you as one of those guys that's into her type of girls"
"I'm not but I can make an exception. That girls ass is fire. I touched it today na, is it not me again"
"Bad guy"
"Leave me joor. That's by the way. Since we're speaking about girls, what's with you and the new girl huh?" he asked while wiggling his eyebrows at me. This is the one topic and chapter I wished these guys didn't open and they've decided to open it this evening. They won't close it till they hear the full gist of what's going on and I don't even have the answer or the gist to give. This is going to be a long evening.
