"Room service!" called the young man, after knocking on the hotel door
"Going!" called the happy-go-lucky gal, making her way from the bathroom all the way to the suite's entrance. She knew she had to straighten things out, but she was in the middle of planning her -no!- their future! She had time to organize the mess for sure...once she was with him, everything would be perfect!
"Thank you" she said as the man rolled in a small cart with two trays, a bottle of water and a glass of champagne. She was on the brink of starting a new life, so she was planning to indulge herself with all of her favorites. After all she deserved a break! She had been under a strict diet to increase her fertility for weeks now...she needed a break before tomorrow!
"Mmmmm...this is delicious!" she said uncovering the first tray and taking a huge bite.
The lady placed the plate of food on top of the king sized bed, right next to her laptop, tablet and cellphone, all filled with thousands of pictures she had saved over the years and many she had taken of him in the past 3 days. Ever since her plane from Seattle landed, she set out to find him and record every step he took. "Oh my baby, you look so handsome." she said, absolutely star struck. No man has ever left a mark on her like Officer James Street. She even tattooed his smile on her chest, as a reminder of his gorgeous dimples.
It all started that fateful day. The day I met my soulmate! I remember it like it was yesterday. The most handsome man I have ever seen in uniform. You were so nice and flirty...oh my God! I was absolutely digging you and for sure you were digging me. I remember asking you for your number in case I saw anything illegal. Yeah, right...like that was going to happen! You had the sexiest voice and... those dimples? Oh my! Makes my whole body tickle! and tingle a bit. Sigh. You said to hit you up, which was music to my ears. I was really expecting you to hit me up...any position you wanted! I was lost for most of the night, trying to figure out where my honey bunny was until I spotted you...
Some years before...
After stuffing himself with so much food, Jim decided it was a good time to call it a night. He had a really good time with Chris and her family. So much so, he actually didn't regret missing his date. At first he felt kinda bad for the chick after he texted her he would miss the date, since it was her last day in LA, but now he thanked Hondo for insisting. It was a great idea! Chris' family is so nice, besides the usual comments about them hooking up and becoming a couple, which he appreciated a lot even if it annoyed her. He kinda wished he had a family like that, it would sure fill him up to have people like them in his life. Maybe one day...maybe...
He totally forgot he had placed his phone in vibrate, since Chris had insisted in him joining the different groups and to socialize. He didn't have much of a choice! Matter of fact, she herself grabbed his phone and silenced it. He felt annoyed at first, but then actually thanked her for that. He had a blast with everyone, even with her little cousins who drove him crazy to join them to play lots of games.
Four hours later, the family began gathering everything and closing down the truck. He helped with the cleaning and trash collecting, until the area was spotless.
"Good night!" he called as he waved good bye. He was headed for his bike, when he felt running behind him
"Hey Jim, wait up!" Chris called approaching. She stopped in front of him as he placed his helmet on, "Did you have a good time?"
"Yeah, I told you!" he said as he glanced at her, "You have an amazing family, Chris!"
"Awww, that's sweet." she said as she turned for a quick look of her people, "Thanks! See you at work tomorrow?"
"Of course!" he said
She offered her fist, and they completed the gesture. As he gazed at her while she made her way back to her family, he suddenly felt his phone on his pocket. He had totally forgot about it, then again it wasn't as if a lot of people would call anyway!
He took his phone out of his pocket and couldn't believe how many notifications he had.
"Oh my God!" he said surprised. More than 15 calls, 10 texts, 20 notifs from social media. All from the same user and contact: Kimberly.
Wonder if something happened...She could be in danger! thought Street as he panicked. He dialed her phone, and was surprised she answered so quickly.
"Hey, are you okay? Just noticed your calls and texts" he asked quickly, still concerned
"Yes..did you enjoy it with her family?" she asked angrily
Huh? What? How did she know?
"Uum...what?" he asked confused
"You thought I wouldn't notice you all dressed up to meet that cop lady's family? What was her name-um..." she paused to think, "Oh yeah, Christina 'Chris' Alonso. Lives next to Washington Square, apartment building down the block, first woman to make it into SWAT in the last decade or so, with family Sarzo, Helena, Thomas and three other cousins."
Oh my God!
"How did you-"
"I know where you've been and who frequents around my guy!"
Your what?
"Um..listen Kimmy, I-"
"Shhh, you just be quiet, baby! It's okay. I'm not mad at all." she said slowly, "Just stop by a store, get me some flowers and I can fix you up for a nice night in."
A what?
"You don't have to worry about that tramp, ever! You already took one for the team...now you're all good! I can have you forever!" she said excitingly
Forever?
Now...
Sigh. He was the best thing that ever happen to me, and I am not going to let that tramp win. I couldn't stay in LA then, but my heart belongs to my beloved James Street. I even have his smile tattooed close to my heart! I have return to get my hubby back, and after so much preparation, ready to start a family with my dream guy. It took some time, but I'm finally ready. Tomorrow will be a huge day! I'm coming for you, James Street!
Back at HQ...
It was nearing the end of their shift. Hondo and Deacon were in the kitchen chatting with Rev -aka D'Angelo- from Junior Swat, still trying to calm him down. Truth was neither officer had much to say, as there were little to no real leads of their investigation. Detective Valley had phoned Deacon completely frustrated because he knew those vandals were probably going to strike again, until somebody stopped them. Luca struck out in the brothel and brought with him a very angry frown, as he received yet another call from a friend from Hollywood Division that Terry was stopped for speeding, which meant another ticket and his license would be revoked. Tan also brought with him terrible attitude as his brother had announced an early arrival and was pissed Victor had him take an Uber from the airport for failing to pick up the phone, as the officer was in between calls following leads from the few surveillance cameras available. His mother had called him just a few minutes ago furious for being so irresponsible!
With each of them with their own personal issues and situations...they were definitely ready to call it a day!
But...not so fast!
Just a few minutes before two official SUV vehicles came to a stop in the front of their building. A group of black suits surrounded the Assistant Director of the Office of Chief Vargas, as the man made his way to their floor.
"Hondo" called Luca opening the kitchen door, "A bunch of suits from the Chief's office are calling an urgent meeting with Hicks and all of 20 squad. Now! Hicks's office!" Luca announced speaking quickly
Deacon turned to Hondo with a frown.
"What the hell happened now?" Hondo asked
"Chris!" Deacon gasped
