Seth, the Evil God, has lost. Now he awaits to be bestowed a punishment fitting for his crimes, according to the agreement.
He sat chained up, surprisingly docile as he waited for Maat's decision. Seth has not uttered a word since Anubis spoke to him.
Deep inside his hollow chest, his heart throbs and burns. Though the feeling was present in his everyday life, the feeling in his chest was far worse than he had ever felt.
He does not dwell on it.
.
He doesn't want to.
Somewhere far yet dreadfully near, a being laughs in sinister joy. He celebrates, for at least his waiting is over and will soon pay off. He triumphs at the thought that he shall have the Little Sun in his possession, once and for all.
Ra in all her glory, she is for once serious. Her eyes narrowed, void of its playful nature as her lips lacked the smirk that always played with her youngling’s temper. She stares at Seth with wide, cat-like eyes, not blinking even once.
'His energy is week. Terribly so.' She pointed out to herself, observing the chained up god below her.
She has shut her mouth for a long time, it irks her.
It's irritating.
It's going to end soon.
And it's going to end her way, no matter what.
When Isis suggested, or rather demanded, that Seth's soul is dissolved… Ra had agreed.
Maybe in another life she would suggest he atone for his sins in her sun boat. Maybe someone else would interfere.
But not in this one. In this one, she needs to put a stop to this before he succeeds.
Before Seth is lost forever.
The courtroom erupts in shock and questions before Maat calls for silence.
Seth would admit that he too was shocked not because of Isis but of Ra? He has a feeling that she's up to something, his position conceals his smirk, as he feels the familiar electrical feeling of excitement. Oh, what does the Sun God have up her sleeve now?
It felt odd for him to be this excited. They are discussing the matter of dissolving his soul right in front of him, but he's almost trembling with excitement.
Why is that, he wonders. Perhaps he did enjoy the adrenaline of all the millennia he spent protecting Egypt from conquerors.
"Hear ye Seth, God of Desert, War and Chaos. The Gods have approved of your punishment, but because of the scale of the punishment I am obliged to ask if you would rather have another punishment. Choose wisely Seth, for this can not be changed once it has been decided." Maat declared, as she held her scroll.
Maat is the Goddess of Truth and Justice. It's true that Seth has done many sins that needed to be punished, but dissolving his soul is not only terribly cruel but also counterproductive.
If Seth soul's were to be dissolved into nothing, the delicate balance of the Gods will be turned. Seth is the guardian of Egypt, with his desert and his military strength, no one was ever successful in their attempts at overtaking Egypt.
So regardless of the decision taken, if Seth were to choose another punishment, Maat would allow it.
She ignores the way her heart throbs when the thought of Seth disappearing forever crosses her mind. It's confusing, the goddess was certain she held no close relationship towards Seth, so she doesn't have a reason to feel anxious.
"I accept the punishment." Seth voiced out his answer.
"Alright, then I shall bestow a diff-!.... what?" Maat halted, looking down at Seth in confusion.
'What? This is...this is out of my control! Why did he agree?! What do I do?!' Her thoughts ran frantic, her hands gripped the scroll.
Call Seth petty but he's curious what RA is up to ,so if she wants to act like this so can he.
'Lets see what your up to, old hag.’ Seth challenged. Deep red eyes rebelliously held them up with pride, initiating eye contact with Ra.
In response, Ra scoffed lightheartedly. ‘I’m glad you're still there after all this bullshit. You even made this easier for this dear great-grandmother of yours, little brat. Well then, I shall make sure to reward you later when this is all over .’ She thought, before flashing one of her bastard smiles as she turned her attention to her lovely daughter.
"Well, Maat~ What are you waiting for? Go on with the judgment. Do your job~" She waves her hand encouragingly towards her daughter, who flinched as she racked up her head to think of any other solutions aside from dissolving Seth’s soul.
'Mother...isnt this...too much?' Maat frowns.
Gritting her teeth, Maat took one last look at Seth, searching for something, anything. Her hands trembled, as she was left with no answers. Seth was sure of his decision. She took a deep breath, before announcing.
"Very well. The God of Desert, Seth. I shall now declare your final judgment!” She began, the majority of the gods watched with mixed reactions.
“Because of your sins against humanity and some of the Gods the Ennead Court. It has been decided to dissolve your soul. No objections were made on your behalf.” Her eyes can't help but wander to him one more time, they began to blur as tears built. “This final judgment has been hereby declared...by the court of the Ennead."
And with the final lower of her hand a golden light surrounded Seth.
