Before anything, I would just like to state that I am not happy with the new writing format. Oh, and Still has reached 380 pages if you don't count this chapter, so congratulatory whoop to you guys for reading 380 pages. This isn't edited, so ignore Emily's incapability of writing literate sentences when they come up. I love you, guys.

FIFTY ONE;

EVOLUTION OF CHAOS

It seemed like school was the only thing left untouched in the town in terms of normality. Whereas everything else seemed to break or burn at the teenagers' very gaze, the prison of education was left alone for the most part. Had you excluded the amount of times they had nearly died in it, followed by the amount of times people have actually died in it, it could almost be considered a safe haven. However, the last place any of them wanted to be was at a safe haven. Scott McCall and Sage Connelly were practically inching towards the exit every time the minute passed by, another sixty seconds wasted of walking through hallways and learning equations that they would fail to use in their daily lives when they could really be out looking for their best friend.

No, school was most definitely not a place they wanted to be right now, especially after having avoided it for two days. To make matters worse, it seemed like they were the only ones willing to participate in an education. While Allison stayed with Isaac at the hospital, and with Lydia still nowhere to be seen, there was little comfort in knowing that Sage and Scott were literally throwing themselves in a sea of people they honestly didn't want to be with.

Despite the fact that nearly everyone in the small pack they created was missing, Kira Yukimura still found herself capable of walking after everything she had been through in terms of supernatural creatures out to kill her. And, for that very reason, Sage and Scott were walking alongside the brunette through the empty hallway before school. If anyone was going to know something about a Nogitsune, it would be the kitsune.

The blonde in the conversation wasn't pleased at the idea of involving the teenage girl in anything at first, especially considering too many things had been going on with each of her friends personally when Kira entered herself into the picture, but she realized that it was inevitable for Kira to become a part of the evolution of chaos. There were too many pieces that had been altered, too many expectations let down, and way too many hearts punctured for any of them to just push out someone who was willing to help them with something that was over their heads. So, if Kira could give them even the slightest of information about what was possessing Stiles, they would enclose it in their options with open arms.

"The thing is, in all of the stories, Kitsune are tricksters. They're mischievous. They don't really get caught up in right or wrong, or even understand it." Kira's voice broke through the tense air that was sifting around the three of them, a small weight lifting off Sage and Scott's chest at the new information just before the two let what the brunette actually said sink in and the weight returned.

Scott was the first one to splutter out in confusion, or rather distaste, at the idea of what the girl was trying to insinuate, not pleased at the thought of something decaying his best friend for the thrill. "What does that mean? It's just doing this for the hell of it?"

"No," Kira denied, pursing her lips tightly as she turned around a corner with the two. "There was something else I found. If you somehow offend a Nogitsune, it can react pretty badly."

Sage's eyebrows raised in question, her arms crossing over her chest as she tried to envision a worse scenario than the one they were currently in. "Badly? As in worse than what happened at the hospital?"
