THIRTY TWO;

ORIGINS OF MONSTROSITY

Kali had tried her fate first. It was expected for her to be the one that attempted to kill Jennifer Blake, obvious enough by the connection that the two women shared. The alpha, no matter how many times she tried to deny it, had been the main cause of this whole mess. She had been the one unable to kill Jennifer, and the origin of that kill was traced back to the same man that had inevitably ruined everyone in this room. Deucalion.

Sage stumbled back in Ethan's arms to try and get away from the scene, but the friction in her boots only sent the two teenagers to the ground as the blonde watched Jennifer Blake dodge every single clawing motion Kali sent her way. Jennifer seemed almost amused by the whole situation, clearly knowing that she had the upper hand in the fight no matter how many alphas came rushing her way to try and stop her.

Jennifer seemed to grow tired of Kali's childish antics, and effortlessly threw the woman back so that she was on the other side of the room, landing harshly on her back with a loud grunt. Sage knew that it would be a few seconds before the wolf steadied, and came to the conclusion that the next competitor was the only person that sought out war like it was water.

Aiden circled around Jennifer, canines bared as he let out a growl towards the woman. Ethan immediately tensed from beside Sage, and even she was struggling to stand up to do anything to help the boy before the dark druid completely obliterated him. The second that his hand went out to slash the woman's face, she had been quick to land a hard blow to his chest.

"Stay here," Ethan snarled, just before he stood up and began to unzip his jacket so that he could easily merge with his brother, who was ripping his shirt from his chest so that they could turn into one voltron wolf as quickly as possible.

Sage's hands were practically digging into her skin as the twins linked their arms together, beginning the process of joining into one. Just as their heads started to gravitate towards each other, Jennifer came saunting over with her heels clacking on the ground. The blonde's mouth opened in horror, knowing very well that if the woman got her hands on the twins while they were transitioning then she had the winning chance.

They were vulnerable and had given her the biggest chance without ever realizing it. Sage's body was scrambling backward, but not out of fear. The second that her back had hit the table, she quickly grabbing the weapon that she had hidden under it. She knew very well that it wasn't going to do anything effective to Jennifer, but it would, at the very least, move the attention onto her instead of the twin brothers. Her shaking hands were positioned on the gun, and a finger had pulled the trigger before she was even registering her thoughts.

Jennifer's head quirked, stance faltering a bit but not enough for her to lose her grip on the twins. In just a few seconds, their merging bodies were separated and they were on the ground. Sage had managed to hit the girl in the hip, but already, she could see that the bullet was doing nothing for the cause and it only added feul to the ever-growing flame. The brunette gave a sick smirk to Sage. "I thought you died."

"Surprise," Sage choked out through her heaving chest, gun still positioned in front of her face. From behind Jennifer, the blonde noticed that Kali was back up on her feet and able to move, unlike the twins that were down for the time being. No matter how much hatred she had towards the alpha wolf, Sage hated Jennifer even more. That's exactly why the blonde slowly put the gun down from Jennifer's face and nodded once.

The druid was confused for a second, and only when she turned around did she notice that Kali was advancing on her. Sage let out an exhausted exhale, her eyes planted firmly on the two boys laying on the ground. They weren't dead, she could tell by the way their chests were slowly moving; but, they weren't conscious yet. She was stuck watching the battle between Kali and Jennifer.
