SEVENTEEN;

IGNITION OF THE INSANE

"Why do I have to text him?"

"Because he's your boyfriend."

"He's your friend."

Allison glowered at Sage. "I don't make out with him in the backseat of his jeep."

"That was one time!" Sage exclaimed, mouth open wide as she stared in between her two friends.

Lydia pursed her lips, still shaken up after seeing the changed numbers. "Sage, just text him. Make sure you tell him to come alone. Anything could end up setting Scott off if he thinks something's wrong."

"Yeah," Sage agreed, muttering under her breath. "Especially telling him something is wrong."

Nonetheless, Sage pulled out her phone and went to Stiles' contact. She was only adamant on ignoring him after their little conversation in the corridor of the motel— not to mention, he believed she was the one responsible for the deaths in their town. She didn't exactly think a simple "Sorry," was going to be giving him a free card for that one. Once she had typed in the message as swiftly as possible, making sure to emphasize the whole 'just you' part, she put her phone back into her pocket.

She was worried; in fact, she was freaking out right now but refused to let it get to her. Something was going to happen tonight, three people were going to die and she had no idea on which three people it was going to be. Not only are Scott and Isaac in danger of their own selves, but so are Boyd and Ethan; and, potentially, herself.

She didn't know what was creating the tempting thoughts inside of her head. She didn't know why she was choking up a poisonous herb. She didn't know why she was thinking so much of her mother's lies, or about how she might have killed innocent people. She didn't know why she was so terrified of herself at this point, and what she could do in the time that this place was harming her from the inside out.

"Sage? Are you okay?" Lydia's voice broke Sage's thoughts, and the blonde turned around in surprise to see that her friends were staring at her in concern. They had a reason to; she knew she wasn't acting like herself. Ever since last night when Scott told her about Derek's death, any capable thought of stability was completely washed away as though it were impossible.

Still, Sage nodded and gave a reassuring smile. "I'm fine."

She wasn't sure how much longer she could keep up the facade though. A knock at the door kept away any more questions, and Sage knew that it was Stiles waiting expectantly for someone to open it. She was the furthest from the door, closest to the windows were she found a sense of comfort knowing the moon was on her back. This only meant that Lydia was going to be the one to answer the door, leaving Sage to stand in silence when her boyfriend walked in. Immediately after entering the room, his eyes searched for her. "What's going on? Are you okay?"

She was going to end up strangling the next person that asked if she was okay. Allison jumped into the conversation before Sage's lip could curl back in annoyance, knowing that the blonde was running on a short fuse. "Something's going on with this place, with the werewolves."

"I had another bad feeling," Lydia explained, her eyes softening as she remembered back to the suicide pack she was forced to endure listening to. "This time, I know that it's going to end badly."
